Are you sure that’s AI traffic? Could it be multiplayer traffic? Because ATC doesn’t handle multiplayer traffic.
It was just stuck. I had just installed that livery into my community folder, so I’m inclined to believe it was AI. It simply wouldn’t move.
Eventually I ended up back taxiing and departing from the intersection ahead of the disabled heavy. Then I saw another plane spawn in front of the heavy. Maybe the AI was stuck because of multi-player traffic?
In either case, shouldn’t I have been told to hold short 28R at Y for departing traffic holding on the runway rather than issued a departure clearance?
Well if a multiplayer is installed the same livery on their community folder, if they use that aircraft with that livery, it will show as such in your screen too.
I’m just assumiing that’s a multiplayer traffic because looking at your ATC logs, It’s not talking to any other AI traffic.
And since it’s just static and standing there, all the more reason that it’s more likely a multiplayer just standing around doing nothing.
If it clears you to take off on a runway with an aircraft, it’s much more likely that it is a multiplayer aircraft because ATC can’t detect any multiplayer aircraft in your session, so it thinks the runway is clear so you’re cleared for take off.
Look at this flight that I made flying with my friend, notice that he’s ahead of me, and the ATC is not saying anything about his aircraft, and even when he’s on the runway, the ATC clears me to take off because it’s only telling me to hold off to wait for another aircraft on final, and clears me as soon as the AI traffic vacated the runway, but it disregards my friend on the runway.
Similarly, on his screen, he has his own AI traffic to deal with (which is the same AI traffic since we’re both on Live AI mode), but it’s slightly different on his screen (his AI traffic landed first before my exact same AI traffic). So from his perspective, BTK 6512 has landed on his session and has vacated the runway, that’s why his ATC told him to taxi into position and hold on the runway. While my BTK 6512 is still on final. That’s why you see him taxi into position on the runway, while BTK 6512 is still on final on this video.
