Got a new bug thats consistenly happened every single flight since the update a few weeks ago.
On departure, just as youre reaching the first assigned altitude, instead of instructing you to climb higher, departure hands you off to the center. Then instantly, center hands you off right back to departure. Then finally, back with departure, you get cleared to climb higher.
Don’t know exactly when this started happening, but I usually fly 3-5 flights a weekend, and the last 2-3 weeks, its happened every single time
Which update are you talking about ?, are you under SU14B (1.35.14.0) ?
I am seeing a lot of ATC improvement in SU14 beta - at least on the climb phase.
If you have a flight plan with a cruise altitude set, ATC will instruct your initial takeoff climb altitude, and tell you to expect your cruise altitude. After reaching initial altitude, there is much less of the redundant repetitive handing back and forth between controllers, and it will begin clearing you higher in a much more natural way. If it does this in steps, then the clearance to climb to the next step comes earlier, when you are within 2000 feet, instead of 200 feet - so you no longer have to level off and wait for continued clearance.
Eg, Take off: “climb and maintain 6000 feet, expect FL370”
Upon reaching 6000 feet (sometimes before), “climb and maintain FL210”
As you reach FL190 (2000 feet below), “climb and maintain FL370” - so cliimb is continuous (unless there are restrictions).
The descent clearance still needs work, but I’m hoping they can make similar improvements, eg, “descend via STAR” - then ATC will be much more useable than it was before.

thats great to hear about SU14. It’s infuriated me since fs2004 that you have to be within 200 feet to get cleared higher up or lower down.

I had a problem yesterday with ATC. I was flying west to Toledo from Lorain County and after being handed off to to Toledo I was told to contact Cleveland Center…???
