No ATC audio on my setup

tested online (Azure) and offline (Windows)
volume knob in Baron 58 was increased
All sounds set for my speakers
What else should I do ?
Check that you have voices volume up in General options and that no ATC is disabled in the User Assistance settings.
This also happened shortly after release.
I had two ATC anomalies last night.
One location the ATC audio was really quiet, the next airport it was at normal volume.
I also had a text only version as the OP had.
There are all kinds of crazy bugs never fixed. Did you try to disable the distance simulation of radios? I don’t know where it was on the options panels but I am sure you will find it.
This was ground! 
But you are right, it could be a bug, and it was emulating that. Although what I have heard with that feature, which I really like, is that the audio is not quiet, but distorted, with added static like effects.
ATC audio is now working.
