How annoying that this issue has not been resolved. Usual thing, take off from airport then nothing for the rest of the flight, unless you use the AI.

There is a workaroud for this.
Select Com 2 in the aircraft
In ATC window select com 2.
That workaround does not work for me - at least when flying the WT CJ4. Probably 20% of flights I lose the ability to hear ATC talking to me (or see their messages in the ATC window) at some point in the flight. Switching to COM2 has not helped in that situation. I can still “communicate” with them by clicking the acknowledge option in the ATC window, but I have no idea what I am responding to until I hear my own pilot voice responding and repeating the ATC request lol.

Did you turn the volume on the Com2 radio up after you selected it in the plane?
I’ve tried the suggested workaround but the problem remains. All the ATC chatter is gone and all you hear is the AI pilot repeating back instructions.
Don’t tell me another re-installation is on the cards?

Yes COM2 radio volume is up. The ATC text does not even show up in the ATC dialog box. The only text that shows is my pilot talking. This does not happen in all flights. I would estimate it occurs at some point in 15-10% of flights. I am using the AIG traffic add-on. Wondering if the increased AI traffic is “overloading” the sim and occasionally causing this glitch.

Is this a consistent problem for you or does it happen only occasionally? If just occasionally, a re-install will very likely not help.
I have the identical issue.
I too have AIG traffic, but I would say I experience it in 75 -80% of my flights.
It is a bit difficult to get the Com2 to work, but after playing around with the volume switch, and switching back and forth between Com 1 and Com2 both on the ATC window and in the aircraft a few times, it does came back, both ATC verbal and written.
You will know when it starts working, because you will hear AI communicating with ATC.
It is a “bug” and there are numerous posts here on it.
I’m sure it will be addressed in a future Sim Update, and no, a reinstall will not help at all.
Selecting COM 2 tends to cause the loss of Azule for me,

I do not have the AIG add-on, and still get the drop out issue on occasions.
AIG isn’t the cause, it happens with or without.
Yeah, that’s an instant Azure Voice killer for me as well. It’s not the only cause, as even if I don’t use Com2, ATC will die on me shortly after departure. But if I switch radios, it’s insta-death for my ATC.
I like to use both radios when preparing for departure, typically having ground and tower on Com 2, clearance and departure on Com 1. Can’t do that currently as it will instantly kill my ATC when I switch to ground.
I doubt AIG has anything to do with it. I only started using AIG late last week. I’ve been having issues with Azure Voice cutting out and reverting to offline voices since SU5. Pretty much every flight. Then I started having this issue with ATC dying sporadically since SU7. Since the SU7 fix / patch in early Jan, ATC completely ■■■■■the bed on me on every flight without exception. Even if I’m just flying and not using ATC at all, but monitoring. It will just eventually stop working. I can accelerate that process by switching to Com 2. Then it just outright dies immediately.
