ATC voice lost in flight

These a few days I lose ATC voice at some point in the flight, and I can’t get it back so I have to abort. Quite frustrating!

Allow your AI copilot to handle the coms from the assistance menus
He seems to be able to hear and reply to ATC when this happens.
You wont hear ATC, but you will be able to hear his replies, and see his response in the ATC window, so you can complete your flight

I used stock ATC for a year and then disabled it and I am much happier. It is really more trouble than it is worth

I agree with @TheSevenflyer, I also had a few instances happened to me that way. But I think of it as a headset malfunction on my side. As long as my co-pilot is receiving ATC instructions on her side, I’m okay with it.

But you don’t hear the chatter of other pilots, all of a sudden you have radio silence.

Can’t do that if you often fly IFR

I know, but it’s like a simulation that doesn’t let you simulate.

Exactly… radio malfunction on my side… I can’t hear chatter from anyone other than from my copilot.

I have found that when this happens you can put the Com 1 radio frequency into the Com 2 radio and it will start working again only it will be on the Com 2 radio.

That is how I worked around this problem when it happened to me a week or so ago.

@SparedGarlic556 Wow, thanks. I often have silence on the air and only with the help of the co-pilot (his answers) can I fly to my destination. Without ATC, it’s somehow not interesting at all. Now, apparently, the problem will be solved. I’ll try your method.

Nice. Does that also work, if your CO (AI) is handling ATC?

I wish i could until its fixed, But i need it for taxi ribbons at airports as i dont have Navigraph/charts

This is a great workaround, I’ll try this next time it happens. Thanks.

Do you have to change frequencies manually after that?
Will the click commands still work and keep it on Com2?
How about the AI handling coms, does that work steadily on Com2?

Yes, it works the same as with Com 1.

No, if you are using the AI handling the ATC. If not, you would still need to click on the responses, it would just be the Com 2 radio. You would need to select Com 2 at the top on the ATC window however.

Much appreciated, excellent find. :+1:

I’ve used taxi ribbon while not hearing ATC. I think I had set their volume to 0 and let the AI copilot work the radios. I think they are independent features

I’ve noticed this recently as well, maybe as of 3-4 weeks. I’ll see if there’s a bug submitted. Driving me crazy.
