ATR 72 600 setting the pitch (pre-flight, before taxi)

I tried setting the pitch-trim pre-flight to the value of +1.1 on the ATR 72 600

I ALSO tried setting via the EFB and it sets and then automatically descends to 0.0 (even when I try the back-up system: no dice).

No matter what I try, the setting always descends back to 0.0

I’ve seen this exact question asked on other parts of the Internet, but there’s no effective definitive answer.

Any help would be welcome.

Regards!

I suspect you may have checked to ensure there are no piloting assistance options on, if so, it could quite easily be a mod conflict.
Have you tried with all mods removed?

Thanks for getting back to me on this. I have no mods installed. I’ve been using the “Fly with Magnar” channel on YouTube and following very closely his step-by-step procedures for preparing the plane. I’m missing something though. I did check the auto-pilot dashboard but to no avail. I’m wondering if MSFS cold and dark really is cold and dark and doesn’t have something preset? I’m going to try again from the same model, different airport, then vice-versa… I sImmed with Flight1’s ATR when I ran FSX/SE and I didn’t have this problem. Do start from cold and dark? If so, how did you set it up? Thanks again

Double check if in flight assistant options there is some piloting aid enabled. I always start from cold and dark and never have issues with trim settings, it stays where I leave it.

Yes I do start cold and dark, all the time.
I don’t have, nor have I heard of this issue.

As mentioned above, did you confirm that there is no Piloting Assistance settings on in Assistance Options.
These have a habit of changing without notice, and could cause this.

At this time , I can’t use MSFS , so this is just a suggestion .
Did you enter weight in FMS ?
Access to the WEIGHT page by pressing the WEIGHT Lsk from the INIT page .

Hello!

Thank you all for your input. It actually was the AI assistant pilot that had auto-trim selected! After changing that setting, my pitch remained on the magenta indicator as it should have.

Anyway, thank you all for your time and assistance. You’ve literally saved me hours of further agonising!

Thank you!

PS: I’m new to the MSFS interface (bought it myself as an Xmas prezzie). I used FSX:SE for years and I never had any AI assistance/interference.

Yes I have. Thanks for your idea! It was an AI setting apparently
