ISSUE DESCRIPTION
The Gross Weight (GW) and Fuel Onboard (FOB) on the EWD should DIRECTLY follow what the pilots enters on the FMS WEIGHT page. It should NOT show the actual fuel in the tanks sensed by the FCU.
The pilot inserts FOB and ZFW on the FMS WEIGHT page, the values on the EWD are directly copied from the FMS. The FMS uses this as a start point, when engines are running it will subtract the fuel used (based on fuel flow) to update the FOB and GW.
The only place to check what you actually have in the tanks is the ENG + FUEL SD page. If the difference between FCU fuel sensed and FMS calculated fuel differs more than 200 kgs, you will get a FUEL MISMATCH alert in real life.
Also, when changing the ZFW on the FMS WEIGHTS page, the GW on the EWD does not update, this is another inaccuracy (god knows where the EWD gets its ZFW data from).
When punching stuff into the FMS (loading, weights), it starts adjusting numbers in the FMS WEIGHTS page, also the EWD updates, but doesn’t match the FMS or EFB because it takes the actual fuel onboard (apparently loading the exact amount of fuel I enter in the EFB is too difficult of a task). So EWD doesn’t match the FMS and EFB.
It should be very, very simple, pilot enters ZFW and FOB into FMS WEIGHT page, FOB and GW are copied over to the EWD, they always show the same and they do not need to match reality. Maybe make a switch in the EFB to copy the numbers over if desired. The way it is now makes zero sense and is a complete mess…

- Open the FMS WEIGHT page
- Change the ZFW, observe GW is not updating on the EWD
- Change the FOB, observe GW and FOB are not updating on the EWD

After entering ZFW and FOB on the FMS WEIGHT page, EWD does not match.
When loading the aircraft via EFB, FMS WEIGHT pages updates to match EFB (I rather like this not to happen), the EWD doesn’t match because it takes the actual fuel on board (it shouldn’t).
