I have been an MSFS user since 2020 and have successfully installed a number of liveries for different aircraft in MSFS without problems. I have just purchased the new ATR aircraft for MSFS and am having problems installing new liveries from Flightsim.to When I unzip and try to copy the files to the Community Folder I get a files too long message. If I shorten the file names the files copy but nothing is displayed when I look for them after selecting an ATR aircraft. I have seen this once before and shortening the file names worked. Can anyone tell me why this is happening and how to fix the problem.

You might check to make sure your folders are Admin enabled. Sometimes an update will change my admin properties for certain folders.

You’re on the right track with renaming folders to be shorter. But you have to be careful. Any folder or file inside the main addon is keyed to the layout.json file as well as other cfg files. I’d suggest not changing any files or folder names inside the addon unless you’re sure what you’re doing.
Better option is to move your community folder somewhere to a place where the total file and folder lengths will be shorter. It’s more work but will stop this issue from ever coming back.
Or just use FS Addon linker, also from flightsim.to. You can then place addons anywhere you want and it’ll link them to the community folder.
