ATR main panel flood lighting absent

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

  1. The main instrument panel flood lighting appears to be absent.
  2. Pedestal flood light does work when moving the FLOOD light selector, it illuminates the correct area and emits the correct color of light.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

Always.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

During nighttime, turn FLOOD panel brightness up, observe FLOOD lights are not available on main instrument panel.

Only reflection from the MCDUs visible on main instrument panel (which is way too strong).

YOUR SETTINGS

Not relevant.

MEDIA

What it should look like:

Could this “from the bottom” panel illumination be just a reflection from the FMS?

Exactly this, which can be confirmed by turning the brightness on one or both of the MCDUs all the way down - so it appears that there isn’t any MIP flood lighting present at the moment.

Might need a reword of the thread title to “not working” instead of “wrong”

Ahah, good catch! So yeah, flood lighting just doesn’t exist for the main instrument panel.

I updated the bug report.

Out of interest, how would the flood lighting be turned on/adjusted for the main panel? Is it just through the common flood light dial that also does the pedestal flood light?

Yes same dial, it is actually quite annoying in real life. For me personally, when setting the main panel brightness to my liking, the pedestal flood light (behind the overhead panel) is too bright in peripheral vision. But yes, same dial.

Exactly why I asked  . I thought it seemed like something that could be a bit annoying to have both on one dial when in an Airbus they are split

Turns out that it is indeed…

In my case , no internal lightings at all .

OVHD , reading lights , storm , compass ,FLT CPT , min cab lights , Dome , MIP/PED , FLOOD etc … nothing active but pedestal and DUs lighted as by day …

Since the update I made last week, I spend my time assigning the FLAPS and CL axes which work when they want (CL stuck on AUTO, FLAPS at 15°), even FSUIPC gets lost.

There is another bug, if you switch STORM ON then OFF lighting works…

Has this one been reported yet? If not I can do so next time I’m in the sim.

Mine is the same. No internal lights at all, except if I start a flight at night, so the dome lights appears by themself and cannot be turned off.

Just did a check. The passenger verison is working normaly for me, but the freighter does not have any cockpit lights.

The workaround for this is to toggle the STORM light on/off, that should at least “fix” integrated panel and console flood lighting.
