ATR mode reversion

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

In case of automatic mode reversion, such as end of flight planned route, or changing NAV SRC while LNAV is the active mode:

  • LNAV changes to HDG HOLD, ROLL HOLD, or WING LVL followed by HDG HOLD depending on the bank angle when the reversion occurred (this seems to be correctly modelled)
  • A triple click sound should be audible (missing).
  • In case of NAV SRC change from FMS to V/LOC while LNAV was the active mode, the message CHECK NAV SRC should be shown on the FMA until a different lateral mode is selected.

  • Upon end of flight plan or flight plan discontinuity, the aircraft should enter HDG HOLD mode and not HDG SEL mode (accompanied by a triple click sound).

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

Always.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

While in LNAV, change NAV SRC to V/LOC, observe mode reversion to HDG HOLD (or ROLL HOLD, WINGS LVL then HDG HOLD depending on bank angle) (correctly modelled), but no triple click sound and CHECK NAV SRC on FMA.

Observe that following a flightplan discontinuity, the aircraft enter HDG SEL instead of HDG HOLD mode (again, no triple click sound).

YOUR SETTINGS

Not relevant.

MEDIA

No triple click sound and no CHECK NAV SRC.

Another place where the triple click should be heard is the low speed alert. But instead this creation activates the autopilot disconnect horn (even if autopilot is not engaged).
