Per the title, I have on a number of occasions had an aircraft overstressed crash message immediately after rotation and I cannot understand why.
I am running the takeoff config check before starting the takeoff roll which comes back ok, but then as soon as I’m a few feet off the ground, overstressed crash happens.
I am completely stumped as to what may be causing this so regularly, it isnt happening every single time so it seems like there must be something that Im missing, curious if any one else has experienced this, and if so did they locate the reason for the crash?
I’d just disable overstress damage from the options. It’s far from realistic anyway. For example, in the Kodiak keeping the storm window open when you take off will cause overstress damage and end the flight. Yep, very realistic indeed…
What I’m about to say could be completely coincidental and unrelated, but this crash seems to occur more consistently when I try to rotate slower or more slowly, rather than straight back on the stick. I have to assume that is unrelated as it shouldn’t be a factor - but it does seem to occur with consistency.
I suspect there is a setting or something I am missing, there must be.
I certainly like to keep things as realistic as possible, but this just does not work correctly. I’ve been flying the FI Spitfire lately. The canopy should be kept open during takeoff and landing as per the POH, but again, it causes overstress damage so I must disable it from the options for this reason alone.
It happened to me with all airliners i fly when i took off at the 2nd leg without going back to the main menu. Its cleary a bug which is not associated with a specific a/c type.
Solution, disabling the overstress damage in the options.
