Depends on my speed but generally not until I’m near my approach. At that point I’ll slow down to a desired speed using my charts or ATC as a guide.
Levers are left in the notch position and power management set to Cruise until manual takeover, at that point the PM is set to T/O and power as desired. I descend using VS and sometimes IAS depending on conditions.
The Vnav has never worked on the 72-600 and the TOD is incorrect. I always fly the ATR with simbrief imported and I’ve flow that route with multiple aircraft but the ATR always gives some trouble.
