ATR V-FP can't be disabled

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?

The V-FP does not disarm after using it on approaches RNAV/RNP preventing it from performing another leg and requiring a restart of the aircraft in the menu. This is a bug that is present from August 2023.

I still have this problem as well.
Out of curiosity, when you lower the altitude preselect before top of climb, does the autopilot also start losing 500fpm even when altitude hold is on? I don’t think they are directly related, but its two major issues with vertical navigation with the autopilot that have both been around since release.

Checked today… The same in 2024

Thanks, I added the 2024 tag

Yes exactly the same

Performed a missed approach on an RNP approach, F-VP mode wont turn off on the pfd and autopilot modes won’t function.

No matter what you do, disabling the AP, pressing STBY or even turning the battery off/on again won’t fix it

Help. this is happening to me too. Currently doing a turnaround flight from NZCH-NZQN, my earlier flight was from NZNV-NZCH. I cant exit V-FP and i have to use VS speed. My approach earlier was ILS RWY 02 landing apch.

FS2024 btw

Don’t know if this also applies in FS24, but in the original this is a purely visual bug: everything still works as it should, you just don’t see it on the display, so you can fly any procedure as long as you know how to figure out it is actually doing it

(though, it would not have triggered on an ILS, since you don’t use the FMS but the V/ILS mode, so maybe it’s different)

This V-FP issue isn’t just a visual problem. If you perform a subsequent flight with the V-FP stuck on the PFD, it hinders visualization of the TOD point, as the aircraft thinks you’re on an RNAV approach. Furthermore, during the climb to cruising altitude, the VDEV indicator will constantly bother you throughout the ascent. Therefore, it’s not limited to a visual problem. It completely limits the flight, making it better to restart the aircraft.

It makes turnarounds basically impossible. have to restart the flight at a gate now

I need to double check how it worked on the real ATR. I believe V-FP works the same as an ILS glideslope, so not being able to get rid of it on approach below a certain level might be correct. The only way to cancel GS and V-FP is go-around.

V-FP remaining during go-around is definitely a bug. And I do remember that they changed something with the latched glideslope function in NAS 3 software, would need to look it up.
