ATSimulations Focke-Wulf P.149D released

I didn’t even know there was a noise canceling headset option

I only meant I wonder what the right choice is as guideline for noise level in sound development.

Unfortunately, right now I have my pc offline due to relocation.
I tried to replicate a noise cancelling headset with my settings. I might have a screenie here.
Yes, I’ve been using this but I remember I turned Master to 40%.

It’s not 100% satisfactory but it is close to what I remember. Some devs have too loud sound engines, carenado for example are too loud with sounds.

Yesterday i also had Trouble with the Transponder. Requested flight folowing, put in the squak manually and nothing happend. Atc for this flight was therefore gone

Transponder probably wasn’t turn on. I’ll guess you got nagged about checking your transponder, that is if you had the commune up to hear it.

It was on. First what i do after starting the engine is turn on NAV, COM, ADF, and Transponder

I had this same issue recently with ATC recently.
The only porkaround I found is to avoid touching at all the transponder while on the ground.
Once airborne you can contact ATC and do your thing and it will automagically work. However, he squawk won’t be set in the transponder but ATC will follow you anyway.
I guess there’s still room for much improvement on that part.

ATC has always done this for you, even on other planes. If you don’t set the code, or turn the transponder on, that dialogue option will do it for you.

It works on the BBS BN2 Islander, for example. If you merely set the code by hand, ATC will accept it initially, then tell you to check your code as the default state is off I believe.

In other planes where you can control the transponder mode, setting it to ON or ALT, and then the code will push along the ATC dialogue window without you touching it. That’s how I do it when I fly the JF Arrow, for example.

Yes if you don’t touch it, it works. Also my observation.
I this case i git the squak, set it and acknowledged the message. After that nothing more happend and was possible.
On another flight i acknowledged and didn’t touched anything, it worked

I have confirmed that in other planes. If you just acknowledge it does both. If you change the code only, it will still acknowledge but won’t turn it on for you.

Actually seem quite similar to flying in game with the cockpit open. Very loud though.

No idea if you can fly with the canopy back in the real one but it is fun in game.

Anyone having issues with the aircraft post Sim Update 4?

Seems fine, what issues are you having ?

Nope, just flew it last night, no issues on my end.

a question.

If I never use the radio on the Focke-Wolf at all, will I get troublwe with the volume on other aircrafts ?

Do the problems already opccur when simply turning on the radio after using CTRL+E ?

I usually don’t use any ATC or NAV radio at all, so I was wondering if the issues would affect me at all.

ATC has always been an issue. It also doesn’t work in IVAO if I remember correctly.
I am not at my pc right now but I think there is a PDF documentation in the atsimulations folder under community/
The dev is a bit too much absent though. If you downloaded it now then it should already be the latest version (there was just one update) about one month ago.

there is a pack for better cameras in flightsim.to, heartily recommended:

and that very same livery is there as well:

Hey Sam…

ATC… You have to turn up volume. By default all the comm volumes are turned down. Also make sure to flip the Radio switch. Other than that it works. This aircraft also turns down the default volume to zero in the NEXT aircraft you fly, so you gotta pick something with volume control so you can turn it back up. It’s one of the annoying things about this plane.

As for the developer? No, he doesn’t really respond much to anything. There have been 2 updates to this - one shortly after release and one MONTHS later after being told it’s “around the corner”… then something like 3 months went by with NOTHING and no responses to e-mails or Facebook.

He just kind of puts things out and then disappears. That’s one thing about AT Simulations I don’t particularly enjoy.

I think with MSFS people need to get used to the fact that with the number of customers some devs are now getting you are not going to get a personal relationship with one on one email conversations with a dev anymore the way you did with P3D.

Add to that the abusive nature of the forums here and a lot of devs are starting to stay away from here as well. II know of at least two instances where demanding entitled behaviour has simply resulted in the dev no longer responding. Which is a good thing, I much prefer they work on their products than argue with 15 year olds throwing tantrums.

Personally I am more than happy with the P149 and would prefer they spend any spare time they have working on getting the AN2 to market.

I can agree with most of that. But one thing they will have to expect is if they walk away from the forums they may find their customers walking away from them! These forums have pretty robust ways to deal with the rude, the unruly, the flat out offensive. The devs. can safely ignore those that cross the line, and hopefully not decide to throw the baby out with the bath water.

Possibly. Though to be honest the sort of entitled customers that inhabit these forums ( the Avsim forums are worse btw) are not necessarily the type of customers I personally would mind losing

There is an interesting contrast with many products between the response here ( utter rubbish, waste of money, I see no difference, this is a rort, what a ripoff) and what you see elsewhere for the same product (thanks for your effort on this, amazing, love your work etc etc) . You even get toxic abusive attacks on freeware devs who are making stuff for free in their own time, in between a day job and family commitments.

What surprises me is that the devs continue at all. If it were me copping that much abuse, I would withdraw my product from MSFS and simply abandon the platform as too toxic to do business here.
