Hey everyone, I’m excited to share a project I’ve been working on for a while - 3D printed aircraft panels for Airbus A320, A330, and CRJ900 on CULTS!
The coolest part? These panels completely eliminate the need for PCBs for the electronics as it has the unique “Button Base” panel for easily insert and attach buttons, switches, rotary, potentiometers, encoders, 7 segments displays etc. This could be a game-changer for builders looking for a more streamlined approach.
The 3D models look fine, but they are not hard to find and are hardly unique. How do you control things without a logic board? You can’t connect switches to USB without an encoder
Hi TheFalconOne,
All my panels also include the mechanism of the buttons and knobs.
You will eventually 3D print the whole panel.
What is only needed are the electronics and an Arduino to comunicate with MSFS via MobiFlight.
I think he means that a unique board will not have to be produced like many other offerings. He is probably using a 3D printed support plate like the one I designed and shared here a couple of years ago for my button box. The tactile switches, encoders, pots, and toggles are all mounted/secured to the plate so no need for a PCB.
I’m itching to take my home cockpit project to the next level and add some more panels for a new aircraft. But here’s the thing - I’m torn!
What types of aircraft panels do YOU think would you like to have as your own home cockpit setup?
Hit the comments and let me know what kind of aircraft panels make your flight sim experience soar! Your suggestions might just be the inspiration for my next cockpit panels!
Out of all the suggestion commenters, one will be drawn to win one panel of his choice from all my panels (a single device). The draw will be held on July 31, 2024.
Good luck and waiting for your comments.
