Hello everyone. I’ve searched the forums and see some who are using external speakers instead of a headset. I’m always solo and I don’t use Discord or any other similar service. I have a nice headset but from what I have learned so far you don’t ever use the mic to talk to the tower or any other aircraft. Am I wrong on the need for a mic? That being said, I’m considering using some Bose desktop speakers for in sim audio. I welcome any suggestions on what to purchase and how said device will mesh with the sim environment. As a side note I’m also considering using the same speakers when I choose to run iRacing. Using the mic on iRacing is somewhat optional if you choose. Thanks for any feedback.
A mic is not required for MSFS.
There are mods available for the sim that can & do incorporate a mic’s use, and for some types of on-line sim flying a mic can be used, but is normally not required.
Any type of speakers that are Windows 10 or 11 compatible will work just fine.

I mostly use Samsung ear buds=BT and normally have no issues. I have Bose headphones, but do not use them often, as like ear buds better. Speakers also work, I use built in ones, if necessary, but like to not disturb BH, so buds keep things quiet for her.
