It is so frustrating as it sometimes stops and then its back again.
The same just now on the flight LOWW-EKCH (ongoing) - yesterday, the day before yesterday, around LOWW absolutely no problems, currently many dropouts and stutters - I have a sounblaster, new AE-5, drivers should all be up to date (they are) - realtek driver - yes, I’m still looking at that - but internal sound card is deactivated !
I spend hours today for research after stuttering occurs again.
Reinstalling audio driver helps, for some time…
Another apporach:
Try to avoid locking the MSFS 2024 framerate, like described in this post: 6-loading-language-after-update-patch-3 (please google that, can’t link).
I suspect the framerate locking as another possible factor causing sound issues. On my system locking the fps to 45 or 60 fps causes audio as other problems like the long sim start after patch #3.
Last edit: I deinstalled nvidia HD Audio Driver completely, plus the nvidia virtual device. I’m using a wireless corsair headset for audio.
Let us not forget: this pice of software is alpha…!
Same here. 9800X3D, RTX 4090, 64Gb RAM.
I got it sorted out by deleting the Cache
Yes, this is one of the points that definitely works, after the size changes or after deleting almost everything runs everywhere without stutters and dropouts (until is’t full again), was similar in MSFS2020, that’s why it was deactivated for me - it’s actually the same “bug”, probably only reported more often with MSFS2024 because it can’t be deactivated (why Asobo, why?)!
Okay no, I haven’t solved the problem as I thought. Will stay with MSFS2020 until they fix this. Too bad
It’s not your system, it’s MSFS2024. You don’t have to fix anything, it’s Asobo who have to fix this disaster of a sim.
For the rest of folks out there, stop bashing your heads in thinking you have a problem with your system.
Climbing in the fenix out of Munich. 60 FPS, 65 % GPU load, 45 % CPU load.
Sound stutters again and again and again.
I really dont know what to do anymore after updating bios, drivers and whatnot. Once again, I do not have this issue in any other game.
RTX 4070 ti super (16 GB) + i7 10700k (not overclocked).
Yesterday, flying with the fenix between Gold Coast and Sydney, no stutters at all. Today it’s happening again. This seems soooo random. Please please please help
Audio Stutters still there and pulling the whole pc with it.
FIX THIS SHT.
It’s been 2 months since release already. We all paid a lot of money.
Hi!
Not sure if this was already ruled out…
Theres is a new feature in 2024 regarding sound.
An audio/volume limiter.
You can find it in the dev mode, in the debug menu.
It’s always on by default. But it can be turned off.
I have some experiences with audio stutters in the sim especially when under load, with low fps.
For those we experience the audio stutters you can try to turn the limiter off and see if it helps or if gets better.
I did a couple flights with it turned off. The last one I was getting low fps but didn’t notice any audio stutters.
Just take note that if you pause the flight with ESC key, the limiter will be turned on again.
Cheers.
Negative. I have always had this setting off. Let me repeat: this is an issue deep within MSFS itself, not hardware- or other software-related. No changes to settings will resolve it. When you think you’ve solved it, it’s only because the issue is pseudorandom—it occurs when content streaming doesn’t function as the program expects, likely during periods of high user demand.
A fix might be challenging, as the root cause could be buried deep in the code—possibly some legacy code inherited from FSX, which wasn’t designed for streaming. The easiest solution, in my opinion, would be to increase server/CDN capacity.
I wonder though, if this truly is a problem within the sim itself then why isn’t every single person affected? This issue makes it totally unplayable and it didn’t even make the bug list in the last dev update.
I bought myself a self powered usb hub and it seems to have helped with the audio stutters and stutters in general, I really hope that was the solution to my problem in this regard.
Just providing an update, it has now been almost 2 weeks since I have downgraded to 23H2, I have yet to have the Audio Stutter in either 2020 or 2024 in that time. I am not sure how many hours it has been but I spent plenty of time both in the air and on the ground rebuilding my AAO scripts, flying, and testing, both with VATSIM and without. Most flights are using ActiveSky, Smoothtrack, and when in 2020 PMDG 737 with Avia CDU. I am not saying that this will help anyone else but it has for me.
I’ve been saying for a long time now that something isn’t sitting right with some people’s systems and the 24h2 update, mine included.
But I did manage to resolve things and didn’t need to downgrade in the end.
Since I set about finding the causes on MY system, I have been flying for the past few weeks without a single audio pop or stutter, a far cry from the beginning where I was plagued by them, right after upgrading the OS.
What was the problem, corrective action?
Lot of talk about this being tied to 24H2, but I’m getting this issue on 23H2
The problem was to do with latency issues which were solved by using TCP optimiser and also changing a setting on my WiFi card.
