KMRY → Big Sur → Rancho San Simeon → Morro Bay → Santa Barbara → KCMA

LEG 1 — Monterey to Big Sur (≈ 43 NM)

Theme: Cliffs and Coastal Drama Depart KMRY and climb to 5,500 ft, tracking south along Monterey Bay. Pass Point Lobos, then hug the rugged Big Sur cliffs past Bixby Creek Bridge and Pfeiffer Beach. Maintain altitude for maximum terrain immersion and visibility.

LEG 2 — Big Sur to Rancho San Simeon (≈ 32 NM)

Theme: Ridges and Rural Coastline Follow the Santa Lucia Mountains south toward Lucia Ridge Point and Hearst Castle. Descend slightly for approach to Rancho San Simeon (66CA) for a 10‑minute full‑stop break. Ideal spot for screenshots and group formation shots.

LEG 3 — Rancho San Simeon to Morro Bay (≈ 24 NM)

Theme: Coastal Continuity Depart 66CA and track south along the shoreline to Morro Rock. Fly a tight scenic pass around the rock before continuing toward Pismo Beach.

LEG 4 — Morro Bay to Santa Barbara (≈ 58 NM)

Theme: Open Coast Cruise Settle into a steady cruise along the Pacific shoreline. Pass Pismo Beach Pier and Santa Maria, then overfly Santa Barbara (KSBA) for a spectacular view of the city and harbor.

LEG 5 — Santa Barbara to Camarillo (≈ 39 NM)

Theme: Golden Hour Finale Follow the coast past Rincon Point with the Channel Islands visible offshore. Descend into KCMA Camarillo for a smooth full‑stop landing as the sun sets over the Pacific.
