This week we head to Australia’s alpine heartland for a helicopter expedition across the Snowy Mountains Hydro Scheme — one of the most ambitious engineering projects in post‑war history.

Expect alpine ridgelines, dam wall hover holds, power station fly‑bys, and a summit landing on Mount Kosciuszko for half‑time.

Built between 1949–1974, the Snowy Hydro Scheme diverted the Snowy River westward to power Australia and irrigate inland farms.
