Australian Dedicated Server

I see a post back in Sept '20 asking for an Australian Server. I have noticed I used to get aroung 62 ping on the SE Asian server, but lately all I can get is 95 and it’s 2 out of 3 bars (blue, not green).

How much of an impact does this have on scenery quality and performance? And has there been any mention of a dedicated server in Australia for those of us “down under”?

Being from German I did a group flight on the East USA server which also has 2 bars and a ping of 70 or 80 for me. The performance or scenery way totally unaffected but sometimes another group aircraft „warped“ a little bit on the ground. I think there is no difference if you fly alone. 80ms, that‘s 0,08s. That‘s something you‘ll notice in a fast running egoshooter but not flying a plane.

Anything less than 100 seems like a good number. It’s not a competitive FPS game where latency is the devil. I’m also in Australia but I think the SEA server is decent enough for me. I even did some group flight with a friend from Indonesia and we had great fun.

I had a few rubber banding issues, but they’re fairly short before it goes back to normal after a few mins and me catching up to get closer.

Where is the SE server? Singapore? Hong Kong?

I’m guessing Singapore…

A Brazilian/South American server would be good.

I’m located in Hong Kong, and get a ping of around 45ms on the SE server.

Not really sure if that’s low enough to indicate it’s located here, as I’m guessing there’s a hell of a lot of low latency bandwidth available between HKG & SIN anyway.
