• Similar problem in Toronto. Monster sized trees beside and growing out of buildings in the dowtown core (e,g., just north of Billy Bishop / Toronto Island Airport, and out one of the Palace Pier condo towers at the mouth of the Humber River in the suburb of Etobicoke)

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• I don’t have any add-ons installed

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:
• I will provide screen shots the next time i can get into FS2024 . But the trees are easy spot, especially the 50-story one in the Palace Pier tower.

I reckon it’s an AI bug.

The trees are scaled to be about 20% taller than adjacent buildings. That’s fine for the average 1 or 2 storey house.
However for a 50 storey skyscraper 20% taller is crazy.

Its bad coding. The building height is known and a min/max tree height should be applied to keep within nature’s limits. Should be easy to fix in the next data crunch.

There also seems to be too many evergreen trees in the UK data. It’s winter, we have had frosts already.

Same issue here, at least when I can actually get into the sim lol.

Thank you for the bug report.

We have created an internal ticket to see if our team already has this logged, and if not they will attempt to reproduce the issue and create a new bug report. This item is now marked as feedback-logged. If there is an existing bug report or one is created, we will move this thread to bug-logged

These also exist in Oslo. The have been present since the photogrammetry update in 2023. Certain buildings are completely engulfed by giant trees, others are covered by smaller ones.

The also exist in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Since FS2020, there has been a consistent problem of oversized AI trees masking ugly PG trees in major cities across MS-Asobo’s “Digital Twin” of the World.

But I have never noticed montster sized (50 storey high) AI trees before FS2024. So far, I have found them wherever there are dense clusters of high office condo towers.

Platform: PC, Steam

:white_check_mark: ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Downtown Vancouver BC is filled with massive, skyscraper sized trees. Very immersion breaking and to be quite honest, just plain silly and off putting.

Nothing installed beyond the base streaming packages that come with the deluxe edition and the various world updates and such pulled from the 2020 deluxe edition.

This is actually true in Seattle as well - guessing it’s worldwide.

I voted this because I saw it in initial streams of the game in various city locations.
It may be a specific tree type used in cities that has the wrong scale, probably a very quick and easy fix unless it is one of those nightmare bugs with seemingly unrelated code that somehow causes it .

EDIT
Having seen this screenshot I have anew theory.

Given it seems to happen in cities and is all types of trees then it seems to be the AI autogen mistaking a building for a tree or drawing the tree to the size of a tall building.

Perhaps the title of the thread could be changed as this seems to be a global issue as you say and stating Vancouver specifically in the title might suggest it is only a localised bug,

I developed software a long time ago. Clear and detailed reports that lead directly to the fault helped me a lot.

Of all the bars in all the cities, I flew past this one. :grinning:

I had no idea if only Vancouver was affected, hand crafted New York is not affected. [a crucial detail perhaps?]

There’s nothing worse than, “all trees are wrong” because where does the poor developer look?

Devs can search the entire database of reports for “Vancouver” or “autogen” and soon a picture of common problems builds up.

Generally the more detail the better.

So I have left Vancouver in the title, but as you suggested added “other cities” and then prefixed it with “Autogen”.
