having just installed windows 11 and begun testing, I notice right away that all of the planes I’ve tried now seem to have issues with the autopilot, wandering off course and flying off to who-knows-where, but definitely having problems holding to the line.
Especially noticeable on the basic Flybywire A320 which seems completely uninterested, suddenly, in staying on course.
Anyone else seeing this?
NOTE: The development version seems to be working fine. The default planes are also swaying from side to side, “hunting” the line before losing their minds, completely.
That’s usually a case with Flight Model. Try to check your Flight model, Make sure it’s set to Modern and not Legacy.
I’m also on Win 11, and I don’t feel that much of a different. But then again I’m flying exclusively on the FBW A32NX.
I moved this topic to #self-service . Windows 11 is in early beta and not supported at this time.

I am on Windows 11 and I didn’t notice new autopilot issues with the FBW A320. I used it yesterday and it followed the flight plan seamlessly.

Do you have any particular language or regional settings in Windows that may be impacting this?
Thank you. Right now resources are already being devoted to XBox. We don’t need people pushing to further divide the efforts with supporting a preview OS release. Nobody wins.
Thank you for the helpful post. And no, as far as I can see it’s just my regular regional US settings that I’ve used for years.
Definitely a problem for me, apparently, as the autopilot seems pretty comprehensively broken.
Maybe not a widespread problem yet, but I just had a relative call me, apparently provoked by something in the news that made her think windows10 was no longer safe, and she wanted to be switched to windows 11 asap, as she was now worried because her computer is used extensively for business, and she’s now spooked into wondering if all her data is about to be sent to china/russia/africa.
In reference to a previous poster, in the next few months, there are going to be more and more windows 11 questions as people invited by microsoft to try out the new OS find problems, including with this game.
Eventually, talk-to-the-hand will not be an acceptable answer.
Turn off Beta encoding under Regions. That’s a common issue. I run Windows 11 and it’s fine. One of the updates for Windows 10 turned that option on and I beat my head against the wall for 2 days until I disabled that checkbox. It completely destroys navigation in MSFS. Control Panel - Regions - Administrative - there is a Beta encoding checkbox on the bottom. Make sure it’s NOT checked.
Thanks a lot for the lead, but unfortunately that option was already unchecked
I am sorry. It’s the only thing I could think of. Like I said, I am on Win11 and my autopilot works… so it’s gotta be something else.
