unable to connect for 1 hour
I managed to install but when I restarted the game I was stuck on the screen informing that too many users were trying to connect.
Definitely Asobo/microsoft are very good at making us want it but they don’t know how to anticipate the load…!
Even you wait for an hour and it loads it will crash when you select your pilot
took awhile with the 97% issue, finnaly got in one time and i couldnt get in my plane so i left and rejoined thinking nothing. then i got put in the queue and waited, ussualy between 20-90 minutes i would get hit with the error screen. thats all ive done so far, been in queue now for about 45 minutes. my roommate on xbox waited almost 2 hours and got in without an error screen and is currently playing.
This sucks
I do hope that this queueing issue is not going to be something on a daily basis. I had to restart the sim because of settings and now it’s again a waiting game. After 12 hours I would like to see a cockpit.
1hr 50 mins for me, 9pm to 10:50pm EST
Took about an hour for me, US west coast. But the streaming scenery on a fiber 1gig connection was terrible. I checked 2020 and it looked great, so clearly the server is overloaded.
I also had loads of other issues. VR toolbar doesn’t load right, it crashed loading career mode, another 45 minute wait ensued. Seems strange you can’t import 2020 controls over? The 3D trees looked more like photogrammetry glitches, like blobs, could be related to the poor streaming quality. AI traffic left a lot to be desired, GA aircraft was like 90% TBM’s. At least I Had most of my aircraft.
Ppl who bought the Aviator edition should be able to jump the queue - what do u guys think ?!
The problem is my CPU load is about 50% just sitting in the queue. Since the queue screen message exists, they knew people would get stuck in it. Yet they didn’t do anything to manage the high CPU load while stuck in the queue for hours. Doesn’t look like 2024 is any better optimised than 2024.
Its after 8pm pst and its still doing this im stuck in a login queue.
Today I’ve spent 11 hours in queue. I’m not exaggerating either. I downloaded the game got it running for 5 minutes. Had to restart because of a bug, then sat in queue for another 10 hours. I finally get it to work for 15 minutes, and crash while loading in a map. This is honestly CRAZY.
I gave up for the evening, but decided to try once before bed only to find the simulator had uninstalled itself. I am now downloading it AGAIN, from scratch, on a 500mbps connection but the servers wont upload faster than 10mbps. What an ugly mess this day has been in simulator land.
I agree. I didn’t purchase that edition, but those who are supporting the game at that level deserve better than the “freeloaders” who pay $20 a month (sorry, I am really not fond of Game Pass players right now)…
I also believe that Deluxe edition players should get to jump ahead of Game Pass. It’s an absolute cancer right now to let this happen. Drop the “play the game day one” sales pitch, it’s nonsense. What about those of us who have supported MSFS since 1999, and poured $100s-$1,000s into supporting the franchise to become what it is today. Kinda disrespectful, IMO.
Your lucky at least you got in, if only once. Mine shows 79 minutes of game play even though MSFS 2024 hasn’t launched successfully even one single time. And this doesn’t include the hour I been in the queue in my current session.
This also directly affects your ability to get a refund from Steam, since they have a gameplay limit in place on refunds. Steam’s policy states that you can only get a refund “within two weeks of purchase and with less than two hours of playtime”. So even though I haven’t been able to play MSFS 2024 for even 10 seconds, I am already excluded from a refund.
you aren’t at 120 minutes of game time…
And if i paid for the LCE, should I have exclusive access to the servers, denying everyone else? See how stupid that sounds?.. But I agree though, there should be a queue priority and even a release priority! Give the people who paid for more than standard an early access, how early depending on the edition bought.
I restarted the app about an hour ago and am now flying. I’m pleasantly surprised to find that it is just usable with low-graphics on the Intel i7-3770 that I built in 2013. So, sigh, I’ve just ordered some current PC bits (nothing fancy - watching my budget) as I’ve been running into limitations with other applications. Hope you’ve made it into the FS2024 club.
No.

Finally got in… but first impression of a glitched out Cessna 172 that was stuck on starter motor cycling isn’t great, lol
Open a ticket with steam and ask for a refund, and tell them that due to the way the game is architected, it looks like you’ve played for a long time but you’ve been sitting at a queue screen. They’re already neck deep in refund requests for this issue.
The more people who ask for refunds, the better the chance the game gets pulled from Steam until Asobo fixes the issues, and if it gets pulled, Microsoft has to handle this public relations nightmare.
