Having upgraded my MSFS 2024 install from Premium Deluxe to the Aviator edition this week, I thought I’d create a topic just for screenshots from this edition. The 35 aircraft are shown in the list below:

Some of these aircraft have had improvements as outlined in this topic:
Over the next month or so I hope to fly all of them at least once.
To finally land at Killiecrankie on the northern tip of the island, about 1 3/4 hours after takeoff. Note the snazzy color coordination between my jacket and the aircraft for the obligatory “end-of-first-flight-in-this-aircraft” photograph!
So, first up today is the Cessna T207A Stationair 8, on a cold, late evening Alaskan flight from Bethel (PABE) to Grayling (PAGX).
The plan is to follow the Kuskokwim river as far as Aniak (PANI), where we will make a short pit-stop, then head north until we meet the Yukon river in the vicinity of Horse Island, then follow the river north to Grayling. The flight should take a little under 2 hours, depending upon wind conditions.
OK, for the second flight of the day I’m back in Tasmania, still on the north coast, but this time in the Junkers F13 for a flight from Smithton (YSMI) to King Island (YKII).
Hmm. Live weather’s not looking that great, but the weather report says “isolated showers” so maybe I can fly around them:
Next up - the Fokker F.VIIa/3m Trimotor Skis, so Antarctica seemed a logical choice to find some snow. I could have chosen somewhere in the Arctic, since this aircraft was designed for an Arctic expedition, but it’s summertime in Antarctica, and I wanted to fly in daylight - this aircraft has no landing lights!
I started this trip at Teniente R. Marsh airport (SCRM) - which is not in the MSFS airport database - encircled King George Island, and landed on the ice by Capt. Arturo Prat Base on Greenwich Island
Braving the Antarctic weather at SCRM without hat or gloves:
Remember to park on a flat spot. Without any braking system, if you’re not on a flat spot & you cut the engine, you’ll start to slide - backwards if necessary!
Todays flight: A late evening flight from Battle Mountain Airport (KBAT) to McDermitt State (26U). I departed rather late today, so most of the flight was after sunset:
