Anyone noticed the slip ball indicator working in reverse?

Hard to be sure. Is 1.2 released yet?
TIA,
-A

This got fixed in the update.

Yes and it is awesome.

Still downloading but that gave me time to RTFM… Looks really good - hope NAV for VOR is working well now. Just wish they’d implement even the limited available wxr display - works well enough in so many other planes

lol - seeing lots of comments about insane climb and cruise speeds plus low fuel burn… Hopefully will get the chance to fire it up later and see for myself

how do you activate the HUD display. It’s blank, and the knob on the left does not appear to do anything.

it worked for me by turning the left knob to increase brightness once power was on

OK. Tried a quick flight but gave up before t/o

  1. Seating position better
  2. Co-pilot window would not open for me - pilot fine
  3. Hold short of r/w - push both condition levers forward - both engines die yet again hence giving up. I will try to figure out the spad binding but this has been noted as an issue from day 1 by multiple streamers… Please fix

to be clear - fuel lever movement from gnd idle to full was done with mouse, not spad. About 30% of attempts will actually work for me

From the AzurPoly website:

Known issues

Those issues are acknowledged and will be solved in future updates.

C-160 Transall:

  • Incorrect climb performance
    • For Orbx or Simmarket installation, you can download temporary engines.cfg patched to unzip and put into your Community folder before next update is published.
  • Condition lever shutting engines off unexpectedly when moved.
  • Aircraft not flying straight with flight assists enabled.

Anyone finding the prop sync not working?

I’ve thrown the switch, but the synchrometer is still spinning pretty unhappily.

What I finally discovered is that the HUD graphics require a very specific cockpit view in order to be visible. In short, these graphics are not part of the HUD. Rather, they are displayed on the the outside screen and made visible when the HUD frame is aligned. I found this out by moving the empty HUD left and right and up and down until the the graphics showed up.

That sounds realistic. As far as I know the display of a HUD normally appears in a certain distance. That has the advantage that the exes don’t have to switch focus (or at least not much) between the HUD and the outside world. And moving the head doesn’t misalign the display and the outside world as much. I’m not sure, but I guess HUDs are always adjustable to a certain degree to align with your sight.

When lowering the aircraft, the passengers remains floating over their seats in latest update.

HUDs generally do need your head in the right place, they’re projected. I’ve found this one very easy to use with head tracking albeit the heading is quite well obscured usually…

Not dug into the FMS yet, I did try using TACAN as a nav source - I think it attempted to use the course I set but 180deg out! it’s somewhat random though. VOR nav certainly works but I had that working beforehand anyway.

I flew a load of who-knows-what from KPRB to MMES and used the new FMS for the flight.

I really like having a new and unusual system to check out and experience.

It worked very well (remember to flip the switch on the bottom section of the overhead panel near the flare controls to tell the navigation system to track via GPS and flip the switch on the right side of the yoke to turn on the FD.).

The only thing that was, perhaps, not quite right was the magenta line seemed to be offset to the left of the true flight plan:

You can see my current waypoint is the TIJ VOR and the next is KREPE. If the magenta line was shifted over those two waypoints it would look to be lined up correctly.

I’m going to drop this on their Discord and see what they say.

I’m liking the update very much - once I sorted out the botched Orbx file structure, downloaded the engines fix and for good measure applied the 8K textures, it was a blast to fly. HUD is useful, FMC seems challenging but not too much, new initial eyepoint in cockpit view is MUCH better. Dropping stuff into a military training area is great fun!

Anybody know though how I can bind the AP elevator pitch trim rocker switch to a button (or two)? I’ve looked at the Lvars/events in A&O, and played around with the ā€œAP pitch refā€ stuff, but without any success.

Thanks. I posted it early. Since that time, another user on Discord mentioned that the patch could be wrapped as a mod which would then allow marketplace buyers to use it as well instead of having to wait for another update. AzurPoly updated the mod and I think that made my link invalid.
