The deviation needle jumps all over the place if youāve selected an outbound course, but if you select an inbound course, it works as expected.
If itās VOR youāre flying then make sure you press the Course reset knob. Same one as you use for course adjustments. Click it to press not rotate. Course set or something like that. I forget the the exact name as Iām in the DC6 currently but I will find out if you need. Inbound or outbound, and from there you can dial in your radials. If you donāt press it itās screwed pretty much and will give you all sorts of weird stuff. Press it and you will get consistent results. Iām flying over to Iceland currently and then Greenland so I need ADF and wanted to fly it there. See below.
As for ADF itās bugged I think and the give away is how long itās takes to input the frequency. Theres a pause and I have to keep pressing the transfer button. Thereās multiple presses required. I get the dial bouncing and it isnāt working correctly from my experience.
If you are struggling with the VOR let me know as the method I use works every time Iāve used it and I can give you step by step if needed. If itās ADF then yeh Iām struggling tooā¦
Great Great Great. Is there a tutorial somewhere that will teach me how to move around the airplane as the narrator does in his video? I never have figured that out so far.
Keybinds will do it if, your on PC set it to the top row is normal. Bit of a pain to set up but worth it. Create a profile for the plane and you can set the views from your free camera and it will remember them according to a keybind. Iām a bit lazy with it but it will definitely be beneficial if you take the time to do it.
Just bought it on the X Box Series X.
Not a cheap one, but worth every penny.
The sound is great, I love the attention to details.
Hopefully some missing features, especially the AP/FMC combination will be available very soon.
One question: It feels like there is some kind of a assistance which tries to level the wings out or limits the roll rate. Checked in the settings, but couldnāt find anything in the plane or sim settings. Has maybe someone figuered already out this behaviour?
I can observe exactly the same behavior on Xbox. Itās really really good, but it seems to have its own will to roll to the right where ever I fly.
It can be compensated with aileron trim. Thereās a gauge in the dashboard to keep an eye on aileron trim so you know where it is.
It always marks exactly the middle.
Yes, you should bind some buttons or keys to AILERON TRIM LEFT and right, then hold those buttons to compensate for the bank, the gauge will let you know the amount of trim you have so you can reset it back if you need.
Make sure your on full realism and no assists.
Edit: In the options menu before flight. Otherwise luisās got you covered above with trim.
Updated my PMS50 with no change to my FPS woes. Pulled all of the addons out of my community folder, still no change. Iām at a complete and utter loss as to whatās causing this massive FPS drop considering I have far more complex aircraft that never see this level of FPS hit-- or any FPS hit at all, for that matter. Iāve sent Azurpoly an email, hopefully Iāll hear back from them.
Very strange. I think the aircraft is system heavy though, whatās your comparison in terms of demand on your hardware?
Iāll find the time later in the week to see how much load my CPU and GPU are handling with the Transall, but for ballpark figures (I have my FPS capped at 60) if Iām sitting in the cold and dark cockpit of the default Cessna 152 at a stock airstrip with no traffic, my FPS will be at 60. If I jump into the PMDG DC-6, it will ādipā to 52, which isnāt much of a hit. If I go to the Azurpoly Fouga Magister, itāll also be between 50 and 52.
Checked, the setting is full realism and no assists.
The workaround with the keys / trim will not be sustainable due to being a Player 2nd Class aka X Box user ![]()
The Xbox users can bind to their controller too itās nothing to do with 2nd class.
Mine is hold RB and right stick. Left and right, up and down accordingly. Not ideal but it works. Create your ownā¦
Edit: Or your other options would be to get a mouse and keyboard for your Xbox. Ideally get a flight stick and you can map the trim to a set of buttons. I can fly using a controller, I do have other options but I like my comfy chair next to the fire far too much.
Check your fuel balance.
I have problems with aileron trim also. It seems like I trim it up (I have assigned buttons on my yoke), then as soon as I engage the AP heading hold, the plane rolls 10deg again and basically crabs along the heading. Without AP engaged, the plane slowly yaws to the right despite the engines being syncronised. If I adjust the trim while AP is engaged, when I disengage the AP, I"ve had instances where I canāt get the plane to fly level again without yoke input, no matter how I adjust the trim thereafter. This doesnāt happen with other aircraft. I need to investigate further.
Fyi:
Answer from Facebook regarding people having problems with the plane staying lvl with or without autopilot, from azurpoly:
Can you check that:
-all flight assistances are disabled
-Your roll trim is set to 2 āticksā to the right
Thanks. It looks like Rudder Assist is the culprit. Hopefully Azurpoly will find a way to allow it to remain enabled.
