ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
Multiple CTD’s today. Six in total. Four when trying to get the B737-MAX8 configured from cold and dark, and two in the CJ4 going through startup. Rather than open six bugs, I’m listing the errors / fault buckets below. The last four are all with the latest 1.1.9.0 version that released today.

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?
I am only running the vanilla sim with no add-ons. I have HW Info 64 on a separate monitor tracking hardware useage and Little Nav Map for flight tracking.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
Today, every time I was trying to get a flight going.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

1.Load into the B737-MAX8 or CJ4
2.Load in flight plan / cargo through the EFB, load route into avionics and to ATC.
3.Procede down the checklist for startup. Each time simulator crashed to desktop somewhere during the process. Once even before the flight when I was just selecting a livery.

I second this, many CTD’s even trying to enjoy the sim, can’t get it to not crash.

Same here. After the v1.1.9.0 update the sim cannot be flown anymore, CTD every single flight. Before update CTDs didn’t occur.

Hey Asobo, X-Plane does this better (and the other 1000 things that is wrong with MSFS atm).

• Similar experience, except that it’s any plane that I’ve tried, such as C208 while attempting my Turboprop cert., A400M in Free flight, C172 in free flight, G36 Bonanza in Career/Free Flight.

• Doesn’t matter the game mode nor is it some given time constant. Could happen without any given warning. The game does usually freeze completely for about 5-10 seconds before CTD.

I crash when I zoom in on the world map or press fly now. in UK on virgin Media. VPN hasn’t really helped. My pc is high end and I have good internet speed. Tried to raise a ticket, but go no response from support. They’re probably congratulating themselves about how well it’s gone!!!

Yes, latest hotfix causes crashes upon trying to change Asobo 737 Max livery.

• Very last one, I was feet away from the threshold in the TBM. The destination airport was very poor res/texture, and I could see the sim trying to load in the scenery, planes, and ground textures when it froze and crashed. I haven’t completed a flight in two days. Really great…

Same here. 4 Flights attempted today with the A320 and A321. Each resulted in a CTD

Same for me, 4 flights attempted in career and only a single flight completed.

Simulator freezes for 5-10 seconds then crashes to desktop. All crashes are in default C172 with no addons in the community folder.

Yesterday was the first day I actually tried to play it so not a great experience so far.

Been facing a lot of CTDs especially after the hotfix release. A few CTDs did occur in the past days prior to update but it’s been quite frequent today. I don’t remember having these many CTDs (not even 5% of what I’ve had in FS2024 so far) in my entire 2.5 years of FS2020 simming. Not a criticism but starting to feel a bit tired of trying to make a proper flight. Just been able to do like one 30 mins flight since Nov 20. Spec: i7-14700KF, RTX4080 Super, 64 GB RAM, 1 x 1 TB SSD, 1 x 500 GB SSD, DX12, Z790 series motherboard. Also, the sim often resets the in-game configurations. Possibly server thing.

That’s nothing to apologize for. It doesn’t work. You have to say it like this

I don’t get any notification of the crash. It just quits to desktop. What I can confirm is that these CTDs are occurring 99% of times while selecting an aircraft, mostly with the A330s (all variants) and H125. The same livery appears to work at one time when selected but induces CTD next time I select it. Had I think around 15+ CTDs altogether through the day and evening. What really happens is the screen freezes for some 30-40 seconds and CTD. On tops, had one CTD while changing the view in an aircraft. Again, no notification like you’ve shown above. So, Fenix released their experimental version of A320 family today and it’s installed in the community folder today. Let’s see if that also causes CTDs or not. If it never occurs in comparison, I believe these CTDs are certainly due to servers since all default aircraft are installed into MSFS’s servers.

Constant crashes for me as well since the hotfix. I can get in and fly, and then 10 to 60 min into a flight, its guaranteed to crash. I luckily played for hours at a go before the hotfix deployment. I only fly GA, mostly helis. Nothing in community folder yet.

Most crashes are just straight to desktop without context. About half the time, they include the warning that memory could not be read.

Well my fellow CTD gang, I have solved my crashes by disabling XMP in my BIOS. I read about it here and there and since my crashes were frequently reporting memory related issues I figured it was worth a shot. It’s worked for me, allowing me several hours without a crash in 2d and VR, which has been impossible since the hotfix.

I have an ASUS motherboard so once inside the BIOS I had to hit F7 to enter Advanced mode, and disable it from there. Never had to for any other game but thats where I’m at.

I managed to load the A330 into Munich and set up perfectly - I was in taxi and fell through a bridge on the taxiway which ended my flight. I restarted and from that point unable to load any flight. I get CTD as soon as I either select an aircraft or attempt to change the livery. So frustrating

Exact same situation here with the A330 so it’s not us :slight_smile:

Thank you for the bug report. There looks to be CTD reports in the comments that are unrelate to the OP’s crash, so keep in mind that this thread is for the OP’s crash related to the B737-MAX8 and CJ4. Please create other topics if it is not related to that.

We have created an internal ticket to see if our team already has this logged, and if not they will attempt to reproduce the issue and create a new bug report. This item is now marked as feedback-logged. If there is an existing bug report or one is created, we will move this thread to bug-logged
