B747 Freighter - Floating Cargo

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: cargo is floating above the aircraft

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)? always

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. select the freighter version of the 747-8
  2. full load of cargo
  3. spawn at a runway
  4. see the cargo above the aircraft or above the taxiway prior to enter the runway
  5. if you don’t see any floating cargo, go to windowed mode, use alt-tab a couple of time to switch between different windows you have open, it should make the floating cargo appear or disappear.

YOUR SETTINGS

If the issue still occurs with no mods and add-ons, please continue to report your issue. If not, please move this post to the User Support Hub.

I had this happen with the baggage on the default 737 Max too in SU4 beta . Floating up in the air above the aircraft. It went away next time I used it.I don’t know how to prevent it happening but it’s not just the 747.

I have tried with the 737 but cannot reproduce.
I have restarted the sim, loaded again the 747-8 freighter and this time freight was stuck in the air above the taxiway:

Certainly a strange one. Someone else reported the baggage floating above the 737 Max too, but it got lost in the noise I think in the beta thread. I didn’t even know they had internal baggage modeled until I saw it floating above the aircraft! I’ll try the Max again and see if I encounter it again.

Here it is on the 737 Max. It seems to be intermittent.

I can confirm with the 747 Freighter. Reproduction exactly how it is described in original post..

and here is the default 737 Max with floating baggage with the exact same replication steps as the 747 Freighter.

Interestingly I alt-tab switched to desktop browser to post this, and then alt+tabbed switched back to sim and they had gone. Weird. Just a visual glitch?

From doing this again it looks like they are still increasing in quantity/size above the aircraft then they just disappear (737 Max).

EDIT: same just happened with the 747 freighter. I maxed the loads in the EFB, started on runway, baggage loaded visually above the aircraft then disappeared. definitely similar behavior with both aircraft.

Video of this weird appearance and disappearance of floating cargo on the 747F

Note: for some strange reason my VRAM (24GB) was freaking out at 99% util with all these loads of flights. Another quirk of FS2024.

Thanks for providing additional information to replicate, weird issue…

Have you seen it disappear like that? the first time I tried a flight it looked like it was all there and stuck above the aircraft forever, but with my VRAM at 99% maybe it slowed the drawing of the cargo down, I don’t know. Very strange though, hope someone looks at this as well as the VRAM filling up issues.

I just spawned and did not see the cargo floating. I then used the alt-tab and after a couple of selections, floating cargo appeared. I then keep clicking on alt-tab but cannot make the disappearing.

Interestingly after it disappears for me. It relocated way off to the left of the aircraft and perpendicular to it.

Heres a short clip showing it quicky moving off to the side

It either appears above the aircraft or perpendicular to it, I assume above the taxiway the aircraft spawned at after having clicked fly now.

Another data point. The cargo follows the aircraft into the air during takeoff too (perpendicular).

Then I alt tabbed away in windows then back again and it had gone.

I can also repro following the steps outlined by the OP.
Before starting the flight::

Flight Started:

I could not get the cargo to reappear by changing to windowed-mode as the OP suggests. The cargo is not in the aircraft either - this view is in drone-mode:

Maybe I’m not seeing it as the cargo is being culled due to the resource usage error seen in screenshot 1?

Despite having a 3090 with 24GB VRAM, I was running into VRAM issues and that message last night too after loading the flight in repeatedly. The floating cargo was happening even on low or high VRAM utilization for me.

The cargo was just way off to the LHS of 747 perpendicular to aircraft but still floating. (red arrow marks cargo).

Same here, it spawned above the parking spot I was at.
