I have the following problem with the Boing 747 and that is when I land I activate the air brakes, but they are not extended when I land. is this a mistake?
You’d bind it to an available slider on your controls.
Search for ‘spoiler axis’ in the FS contols.
If no slider available, you can also choose to use a ‘toogle’ ( on/off) switch
How come you don’t use the auto engage function?
I mean the spoilers on landing, they don’t go out automatically even though I disarmed them
Have you checked if they’re maybe already retracted automatically by the time you look? The ones on the A320 did that until (I think) the 1.12 update and had me fooled for a long while.

Yes, it is a known issue.
Are yall sure you are arming them? They are legit finicky to arm and not easy to arm like the 787.

Same with me, ground spoilers do not deploy on landing, never worked.

You can arm them just fine, but they don’t actually deploy on the wing!
Guess I’m the only one they work for?

from my own testing it appears the animation keyframes for the first two spoiler positions of the lever in the cockpit are back to front.
i.e.
fully forward and down = armed (should be locked/off)
fully forward and up = locked/off (should be armed)
I found this out because when you first load the aircraft the lever is in the fully forward and up position, and when you put it in the fully forward and down position then fast taxi when you reduce the throttles back to idle they will deploy.
since I found this out they have been deploying on landing fine all be it in the wrong lever position.
I tried to tell them it was finicky lol
Even that isn’t correct for the 747.
On the ground, if the spoiler lever is put in auto, the spoilers will (at least they are supposed to) deploy.
Speed or thrust lever position does not play a role.
You don’t arm the spoilers for takeoff as in an Airbus.
They will auto activate if reverse thrust is applied for an RTO during the T/O roll.
Found problem. Spoilers in default 747 are HARD CODED to ONLY deploy at same time as reversers. You can use your controller axis or keyboard (F2) and they WILL deploy when reversers kick in.
This is a BUG (dual assignment issue) because the sim lets you assign an axis to spoiler axis but it will NEVER work as again they hard coded to reversers. Fully tested this and this applies in all scenarios.
