📌Back2Black (North Carolina)

Splash1
Welcome to the 136th flight event across the GUNNER DOWNUNDER series. This week we will be flying in North Carolina, and the event is again guaranteed to give you more of the unique and challenging flight experience that you have come to expect from Gunpilot’s flight events.

Yes, North Carolina is the venue for this weeks challenging flight, and while the airstrips selected to land at are not too difficult to approach and land on, the degree of difficulty has been turned up a bit with the inclusion of some low lying clouds, rain showers and 15-30knot winds along the way.

In this BACK2BLACK flight event, we will be flying in the BEECHCRAFT KING AIR .This twin engined low wing turbo prop aircraft is a much larger, faster, and more difficult aircraft to pilot…and that degree of difficulty is ratcheted up a further notch by having to put this aircaft into small North Carolina grass strips!!!

The objective of these Back2Black flights will be to see who can fly the whole event plan without damaging or stressing their planes to where their screen goes Black and they have to restart where they crashed, either by landing heavily, hitting trees on final approach, stalling, or a myriad of other ways that you can ruin your day in the cockpit. If no pilot makes it all the way from departure to destination without going back 2 black then it will be the pilot who has had the least instances of black screens that is declared the event winner.

To add a further factor that may well alter who comes out on top at the end of the flght, a few outlandings have been included along the way. These outlandings will be in relatively flat terrain but extra care will still be required to ensure you don’t overstress your undercarriage when landing in these slightly bumpy fields. If you manage to successfully land and depart these extra few waypoints then for each one you navigate successfully you can reduce your Back2Black tally by one, allowing some chance to redeem a previous lapse in concentration that caused you to go Back2Black.

*Again, a packaged up WEATHER file has been developed and included along with the flight plan, negating any need for anyone to dial in weather settings, as well as ensuring that all pilots are experiencing exactly the same weather conditions. The Weather Preset file is located in #gunpilots-events (click GUNPILOT’s Server to be taken there). Extract file into your Community Folder prior to launching your sim for the flight.

Remember, you will be dropping onto the departure runway in a King Air!
