:white_check_mark: The backspace key on the keyboard is the external view toggle, this makes it impossible to enter information into the tablet without going back and forth into the cockpit.

  1. Trying to type into the tablet
  2. Press the “Backspace” key
  3. You’ll see the simulator go from in and out of external view.

• This is quite annoying. It does this in the control settings page as well if you access it by clicking on it in the toolbar and then typing in the search filter box, quite annoying binding things when you’re searching for commands and then deleting them from the search box witih your plane flicking to internal/external view. A workaround is to just remove the external/cockpit view binding from your commands but the game really shouldn’t be doing this. The game needs an exception put in for text boxes not triggering in game events.

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
When using the EFB, backspace inputs are not inhibited. As a result, if you were to backspace in the EFB, the view would change rapidly between external and internal cameras.

  2. Go to flight planning page
  3. Type in flight plan page
  4. Backspace to delete data

• Yes. EFB inputs are not stopped from being read by the sim, changing camera angles and otherwise changing aircraft systems when using the keyboard.

Description of the issue: In the PFD in any aircraft use the icon to input details using the keyboard, if you try and use the backspace key to delete anything it just switches the camera view to external.

There’s a keybinding that maps backspace to switch cockpit/external view. There are a lot of bindings that I didn’t expect. I think they tried so hard to get core movements onto alphabetic keys that a lot of other functions wound up moving to what seem like random places.

It’s so bizarre, all they had to do was keep the default keybinding from 2020. It’s as if a completely different team made 2024 and didn’t bother to even look at 2020. Anyway, that’s not the point, surely it is a bug because when the keyboard is active on the PFD then the keybinding should be disabled to avoid any keypresses causing something else to change, I wonder if I press the B key will my flaps come down while using the PFD?

Well, they certainly shouldn’t come down! What should happen is your altimeter setting is updated! :rofl:

That’s what should happen but they changed that key bind to flaps in 2024 for some reason

It blows my mind that something incredibly obvious as typing into the EFB that is BRAND NEW TO THE GAME was not encountered during testing. Seriously, I mean who tested this? There is zero excuse unless the person typing into the EFB never fat fingered anything. Doesn’t matter cuz its not just the backspace key. Any other keybinding will trigger if you’re trying to type into their weak EFB.

Another proof nothing was tested before launch… And not even corrected in SU1 beta. Do the devs really play that thing?

Is this really still a problem? Its not just the backspace key. How can we be this far into the release of this game and this be a problem? I guess their target audience (XBOX) dont have keyboards so they must not care. I mean are we expected to unmap every keybind on the keyboard?
