Agreed. The same just happened to me, I lost everything (settings, controls, accessibility options, logbook etc…) after the Authentication/Insert Disc message on startup. I had very little time to fly this month and this basically prevented me from flying since I don’t have hours to dedicate for re-setting everything.
EDIT: SOLUTION UPDATE
After a few days of headache, I’ve finally got back my previous settings after the “insert disk/unable to verify license” error.
step by step guide:
- Delete WGS folder (BACKUP IT FIRST)
AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_XXXX\SystemAppData\ wgs. - Sign out from Xbox and MS store.
- Restart Windows.
- Sign in Xbox and MS Store.
- Start MSFS. It will sync from cloud and you’re ready to fly with your good old settings. (You probably still need to set again Graphics/Accessibility options).
P.S. In case you still have default control options, manually set your custom settings selecting them on the MSFS control page.
