Barcelona ILS-Z 25R GRAU1W approach

This is what the A320 MCDU calculates when entering GRAU1W to ILS-Z 25R for Barcelona (LEBL).
Same thing happens with many other ILS approaches, the sim introduces innecessary waypoints altering completely the flightplan.

These are actual approaches though. They are used by ATC to separate traffic. If there isn’t any traffic, ATC can always give you vectors to skip some points in the flightplan.

It’s the ATC equivalent of those queue ribbons you find at the check-in counter of an airport, amusement park or bank.

As @LinerXiandra explained above this as per published procedures. See image below. The AP has just selected the CLE transition for the STAR.

You can always fly using the 5th transition option (Vectors to Final) with ATC or fly yourself using HDG to BL423 from CLE and activate APPR to intercept the localizer.

Since we’re discussing this already, I’ve always wondered why it show that weird connecting line between for example here BL427 and BL423. It only makes sense if the MCDU accounts for the 30 deg intercept angle for the LOC, which it will not fly anyways due to our known bugs

Hey, which softwsre is this? (picture)
