Flying the Daher TBM 930 and love this aircraft.
I’m sure people have posted about the ATC asking for absurd, high altitude, flight level. In short, the ATC is looking at the flight plan altitude instead of the approach altitude because the markers on the map haven’t been reached in the original flight plan. The approach flight plan loads before the original decent that was set so you get the annoying altitude warning for a while. Building the plan manually or removing the nav locations that occur before the approach should correct this, but it really should be automatic.
Second issue I have is with airport barometers. It’s working correctly at high altitudes, but the change will either plunge you in the ground early or in the last 2 times I’ve complied the barometer change overshoots the runway. The ground level 29.92 when the ATC said 28.77 which overshoots by about 500ft.
In the air the Daher TBM 930 alarms for masks at 31500, If I don’t change the Barometer from 29.92 to 28.3 given by ATC, I’ll overshoot my altitude at 31000 and be forced to make the adjustment. The same setting will overshoot a runway at 29.92 on the ground at about 800 feet. etc…
My imaginary passengers are getting rough rides or not making it because of the landing issue. Weather, wrong barometer setting for the ground, forgetting landing gear or pressing the button but if the mouse is held for panning nothing works for the controller. At Mach .54 the Daher will eventually try to barrel role and slow a little.
