I think you are correct. The issue that was fixed related to issues with the altimeter had to do with autopilot altitude hold not working properly when the pressure was other than 29.92.
The issue in this thread is specifically a Live Weather problem - where the external pressure in the MeteoBlue model will suddenly change when flying at a constant altitude - instantly dropping or rising by several millibars.
