You don’t fly at 30.86 in one spot then take a step into another spot and it suddenly becomes 29.92 in the same low altitude.

EXACTLY – in real world its a “gradual” change.

In MSFS 2020 it can be in instantaneous abrupt change – which is obviously incorrect – and leads to undesirable effects in the Sim.
