Okay, so now that I have a solution, what is the reason it won’t follow a SID or even get on track after I fly the course of the SID when NAV is engaged? Is there a procedure for that? And why doesn’t it show up in the MFD even though it is in the FPL menu? Thanks for sticking with me through this. 
This is what I was suggesting earlier as the crux of your issue, the G1000 does not seem to have any knowledge of this flight plan.
Please press the FPL button on the MFD and give us a screenshot of it.
After you press the FPL button, click the FMS knob and scroll to the first segment / leg. Press the Menu button then select “Activate Leg”
See what that does for you.
It’s still not showing up on the map. Am I doing this right? Maybe I’m too dumb to understand.
You have the CDI set to LOC. press the soft key and change until it’s a magenta line.

Updated the G1000 to latest version.
Was he on NXi? Or he was already on NXi, and an update pending in Marketplace? Might be useful for future readers!
NXi with pending update in Marketplace. Was on quite an older version (not just one back from the update last month).
