In the Release notes they said that the new update will reduce the base game from +170G to only 83GB. After I have applied the new update my base game size is still +170G. Is there a way then to reduce this to 83G?
I believe they are referring to full download size not the expanded game on disk.
I’m guessing a new compression algorithm. Way back when, some archive apps allowed you to choose how much compression was used. Keep a bigger file size, and you could make changes within the zip file. Tighter compression gave you a smaller file, but it became read/extract only.
Yeah the installed size will be larger than the download size.
If you have orbx app when ou download anyhting on there you will see the download size is smaller than the installed size.
As said its just file compression.
