Based on my videos is my msfs performance is good enough on laptop?

So i’m tired already, tweaking nvidia ctrl panel + in game settings, and this 2 videos is my last tweaking that i think is max on my laptop. Less stutter without sacrifice much graphics with highest fps possible.
Decrease my in game graphics settings just help improve fps a bit, while in other game using low-end settings can improve fps a lot sigh so weird =_=

Spec:

  • Ryzen 9 5900HS 3.1 GHz (16M Cache, up to 4.5 GHz)
  • RTX 3060 6gb gddr6
  • ddr4 8+8gb 3200 upgraded to ddr4 8+32gb 3200 (both running dual channel in cpu-z)
  • SSD nvme

Based on videos is my msfs performance is good enough on laptop? Watch on youtube app to watch on higher quality of videos.

notes:

  • when using icon a5 aircraft in with same in game settings, flying above sea with few clouds i can get 80 fps haha
  • not only the scenery, but the smaller & simpler the aircraft can improve fps a lot.
  • disable in game toolbars such as VFR map can improve fps or stability, i disabled some in game toolbars.
  • turn on “USE GENERIC PLANE MODELS (AI TRAFFIC)” can help to make less stutter.

Video 1: A320 fly by wire in Jakarta

Video 2: Eurofighter Typhoon in New York
(eurofighter fps is equivalent with boeing fps or more in my laptop)
( if you have heart disease, do not watch this haha)

Why does it say " Game: 1280x720 " ?

@EdamllamaB That setting is render scale i sett it to 50%.
50% of what? 50% of my max resolution.

Decreasing render scale increases fps a lot.
The downside is that your graphics are becoming awfully fuzzy due to the low res.

I’m just using 15inch laptop screen. So 50% render scale is my max tolerance, not too fuzzy.
If playing on bigger screen like on 25ish inch TV then need higher render scale.

Anyway watch the video on youtube app, dont watch in this forum. In youtube app u can watch in higher video quality

This is because you are mainly CPU limited so changing graphics settings will have minimal effect. Aside from turning off Hyperthreading/SMT not sure what else you can do about that.

Please, no more tweaking. It’s game fault that not utilize all cores that my cpu have. Task manager say just 30% my cpu usage.

Yep which means SMT makes it worse by putting stuff on the same core as the main thread.

One Thread to Rule Them All

Not to matter - your FPS is actually pretty good and it looks very playable. Your tweaking has clearly paid off.

Yes i think is playble, even with low fps in new york low altitude & high air speed. My game is almost no stutter (pauses)

Microsoft should revise it to All Thread to Rule Them All in Efficient Way

Not sure the point of this question. If the laptop can run the sim then already you are ahead of the game. The only person that can determine if the performance is “good enough” is you. Some folks are not happy unless they are 60+fps at 4K on 3 screens. Others are happy flying at 20fps at 1080p.

If you can play and you are content then why set yourself up for abuse from other users? Just go fly and enjoy. If you aren’t happy with the performance then ditch the laptop and get an XBox or new computer.

Jeez, maybe only laptop user should have answer this haha
