Basic Controls say "No Entries"

Hi Pilots! Ughh, hopefully a very newbie and easy question here…

I installed MS2020 on a laptop with no num pad. I have added a winwing fighter joystick.
I see keyboard, mouse and the joystick in my controls mapping page. However when I go to basic flight training, my toolbar “Basic Controls” in empty. “No Entries”

I have not been able to figure out how to correct this. Is there something I need to set up or make active? I have joystick basic controls mapped and also some keys to replace some defaults that assume a num pad.

Can keyboard map step on the joystick mapping, and could that cause the empty “Basic Controls” window?

I have just installed MSFS 40th Anniversary edition on my PC. Right now, like you, I only have mouse and keyboard available. I get the same ‘No Entries’ message that you reported. Did you solve this problem? If so, perhaps you could share the solution. Thanks.
