Hi guys, I know a lot of us had issues with our favorite airliners CTD and all that.
What I want to say here is that this is a sim we’re going to play for years so (like American say) " let’s cut the guys some slack"; they will fix the problems, we just need to be patient.
Personally, when I want real tech sim, I stick to my FSLABS A320 and PMDG 777 on P3D (you guys real simmers know what I’m talking about).
But I must say I never had a single CTD with the Bonanza, for example, and I can explore and enjoy the graphics (although I don’t have the fastest PC).
I did a whole hours flight from KBOS to KPHL and it like I was descovering America (never been there) it was just beautiful, I did many screens, it was beautiful.!!.
These guys (not just because I am French) did a huge job to give us a sim we never saw before.
So please again guys, let’s be a little less eagerly, third part will come, issues will be fixed I am sure.
Cheers all of you
On one hand, sure - the situation is what it is and pounding fists against keyboards or throwing a tantrum doesn’t change the pace of a development cycle. So patience is warranted; things will only improve in time.
With that said, I’m not going to cut anyone any slack. State of the product at release time was inexcusable. I say that as a customer and as a software engineer.
While I agree with your sentiment, this post just contributes to the problem here, serving up a juicy helping of bait for the slighted.
Agreed. This serves the same non purpose as “WTF Asobo threads”. Perhaps we can have a global sticky for disappointments and then another for encouragements.
However OP, I’m glad you can play it to a level that satisfies you. Happy Flying
Yes that’s the point; maybe we should act and talk more like simmers rather than just consumers… no offense
Why should someone who’s paid $120 odd for a premium product be patient? I entered into a commercial contract. I don’t expect nor give sympathy to or from commercial developers.
I don’t have, nor need, any relationship with them. I just expect to get what I paid for, which is a viable replication of a real-world flying experience where all basic controls work properly.
Asobo haven’t delivered and I haven’t received the product for which I paid.
A common argument here is for those to say “all flight sins are released like this, they’ll get better, it’s a 10 year program” etc etc. But I’ve entered into a business contract with a commercial company so why do I need to show patience for a sub-standard product?
I say for $120 it’s scandalous. Do I not have the right to a decent, proper experience with fully functioning instruments at launch?
therein lies the rub
What? You’re saying I shouldn’t expect to get what I paid a commercial price for?
Its your fault if you paid 120 ,dont blame the Devs
I understand your position
personally I bought the standard edition (boxed) 55€ and had no trouble installing .I also was desapointed that my favorite airliner (A320) is unflyable but again just complaining will not make things go faster…I think
You want to explain that comment.
This is clearly an early access program Not a release product which it was marketed as so you can hardly blame people for their reaction. I run another race program which is early access and is stated so by the developers, There are Hardly ANY complaints on that forum, just suggestions for improvement., Because the buyers know what they bought into, Get my point?
Yeah, well all I wanted to say (in my limited English sorry) is that in a few months we will enjoy better but I agree with you on the point that the release was a bit early they should have waited a few months
bons vols à tous!
We should act like simmers?
I’ve been a simulation engineer professionally for over a decade. This is how I act - when I put a release out, it’s expected to work, so I make sure it does. Likewise, if I purchase someone else’s tools I expect them to work.
It’s as simple as that.
“It’s a 10 year sim / program…” is irrelevant.
“Remember so-and-so game / sim? It was like this too!” is irrelevant.
“It’s your fault if you paid $120, don’t blame the developers” is absolutely ludicrous.
So again - I get it, once the release is out there’s no more could’ve / would’ve / should’ve, it just is what it is and updates will come at whatever pace they’ve set. And yes, there’s a lot of stuff that the development team has done well to create a simulation world that can be fun to fly in when things work. I’m looking forward to what the future brings.
But it just does not in any way shape or form excuse sloppy work and a sloppy release.
I suspect, if you dig through the EULA, you purchased a license to use a product, a license that MS can revoke at a time of their choosing.
I agree. To be honest, the fact that the sim kind of rushed into beta at around the same time the release date was announced made me suspicious.
I’ve monitored the alpha feedback and thought to myseld that there would be no way that everything would be in order until release day. And I was kind of right.
I purchased anyway shortly after release because I desperately wanted to lay my hands upon this long-awaited product.
I’m not angry though, I consider this the “extended beta”. Sure, I also paid som money but the way I see it it’s been an investment in the future MSFS.
Besides, I’m currently around 50 cents per hour of gameplay. This would still be cheap if MSFS was a singleplayer campaign.
Of course, I could go full Karen and speak to the manager and claim my money back but I’ve actually read the contract I agreed upon.
I can only recommend everyone to stay calm. None of the flight sims was perfectly working right from the start and I’m confident that there are lots of improvements to come.
WE are the beta testers… Enjoy what you have as it can only get better one day
I do agree with you Judge, thanks for your pertinent comment; let’s just stay calm people…
we are all here to discuss our common passion for flight sims
yes we should
We (at least I) were beta testers as Insiders, and the released product was supposed to sell as “a finished product” not as an anticipated access. When you sell me something supposedely finished I have more expectations than on a WIP product.
Ms lied by not telling the truth, both in trailers and in marketing parts.
That doesn’t neglates “the qualities” of the product (but still will contrast even more on bugs/ problems/ etc), but that just get Asobo a bad role, when I fiercely believe that those choices (to lie and get the release as quick as possible whatever the state) is an Ms move.
