Every fall, the Moscow State University has a “Science Festival”, (they call it “Наука 0+”), that is a bunch of exhibits sponsored by scientific student groups and local scientific industries to help promote interest in science.
One of the most popular exhibits every single year, is the Moscow Aeronautical Institute’s “Flight Simulator” exhibit. Here they have a large screen showing the out-the-windows view from an airliner like the Airbus A330, with yoke, throttle quadrant, (and even pedals, if you’ve got the guts!), for individuals to “try flying”. No disrespect to the GA crowd, but “flying” an Airbus airliner has more street cred than a Cessna 172. . .
My granddaughters go there every year, and have gone there since they were like 3 or 4 years old, and they still get a kick out of getting that Airbus back on the ground without crashing!
And what @Crunchmeister71 said is as True as Gospel - you do you. I have a friend that thinks flying a F-16 is The Bees Knees. I like “classic” aircraft like the DC-6, (along with my “analog” GA aircraft). The next person may not even bother sitting in anything that’s not a 747, or an Airbus A380.
There’s this one guy, @ZILLNIAZI17, who makes a hobby of flying around interesting natural formations and landmarks like https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/what-did-you-do-in-msfs-today-part-2/553275/1192
That’s what makes a sim like this great. I do what works for me, Crunchmeister71 does what works for him, and you do what works for you.
