Brief description of the issue:

Helicopter collective setting suddenly changes without any input from joystick.

Detailed steps to reproduce the issue encountered:

Start helicopter with collective axis control set to zero. Wait about 20 seconds on the ground, then observe that torque reading increases suddenly without any input from either keyboard or joystick. Aircraft suddenly takes off on its own. Attempt to land - cannot reduce collective torque, using joystick, enough to descend to ground. Aircraft keeps climbing even with joystick set to minimum.

I observed the collective in the cockpit as I operated the joystick. Collective does not seem to be lowered all the way with minimum joystick when this happens. While at altitude I then used F2 key to reduce collective, and after pushing F2 one time, then the joystick was able to control the collective normally and landing was possible. But after landing, the same behaviour repeats itself - helicopter takes off on its own after a few moments as torque suddenly increases with no input from the joystick.

Checked joystick sensitivity in Options - Controls. That axis operates from zero to maximum smoothly and with joystick set to the zero, the graph shows the operation point for that axis stays at zero with no tendency to jump higher on its own, even after extensive wait time.

I also checked operation of the same joystick axis, assigned to the throttle using a different profile that I use for fixed-wing planes. There was no sudden or delayed variation of the fixed-wing throttle from a fully idle position, as long as the joystick was left in the minimum position.

This same behaviour was noticed on both if the stock helicopters and I first noticed it on or about March 1. Before that I had no problems with the helicopter controls. I have observed this after rebooting PC and each time I try to fly the helicopter, in each of at least 10 different sessions over the last week. Before that time I have flown the helicopter on average once a week for the previous year with the same hardware and never saw this problem.

Did any of your piloting assistance options get turned on?
The sim has occasionally been known to do that without the users knowledge.

Good idea to check the assistance options but I just checked and none of them are turned on. Same weird behavior persists. Sorry for late reply, I am not receiving notifications.

Seems the problem has gone away. I deleted my control profiles and redid all the joystick control settings from scratch. Hope this will be the last I see of this problem.
