ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

The assigned keyboard / controller keybind for the rotorbrake toggle do not work at the bell 407 like they do in every other helicopter. Using them only applies the rotor brake for a short moment and lets go of the brake. Same for the engage rotor brake keybind or pulling the lever by the cursor.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?

Always

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Shutdown engine

  2. Try to apply the rotor brake

  3. Watch the lever and the rotorspeed.

YOUR SETTINGS

If the issue still occurs with no mods and add-ons, please continue to report your issue. If not, please move this post to the User Support Hub.

What peripherals are you using, if relevant:

PS5

Both 2020 & 2024 behave this way for the Nemeth Designs Bell 407.
I do not know how to do this with a controller for xbox or playstation sorry.
But if this helps…

The lever is not lockable in the applied (on) position. It’s not a “toggle” like a 2 position switch.
Manual states to release it just before the rotors stop. It is not a parking stop in other words.
Blade(s) need to be tied down to prevent windmilling.

For 2024 ( I can not remember if 2020 was the same) you can:

Mouse-
Left click and pull down. Hold left button until desired rotation speed and release.
It will return to the stowed position.

Keyboard-
Change the Control settings to: ROTOR BRAKE ON and set Input Repetition on.
Hold whatever you have assigned until desired.
The lever will return to stowed position by itself, no need to use Rotor Brake Off.

I can hold it down with cursormode but even this does not work good. Setting the key bind to Rotor Brake On did not work for me. It does not stay in place.

Thank you for the bug report.

We have created an internal ticket to see if our team already has this logged, and if not they will attempt to reproduce the issue and create a new bug report. This item is now marked as feedback-logged. If there is an existing bug report or one is created, we will move this thread to bug-logged.
