Best Denver

There are three versions of KDEN. But what is the best. What has the most detail and is the MSFS Default one enough?

I have X-codr. I used their stuff on x-plane and liked it too. it’s nice

but having 3 KDEN’s is annoying to me. there’s many airports not available either at all or excluding of xbox users. ie KMCO, KMCI. Stop replicating

I disagree. IMHO there’s nothing wrong in having two or more renditions of the same airport available. At least I have a choice. For example I bought LVFR’s KMIA back in 2021 or 2022 (not sure now) but I gladly purchased KMIA again this year released by AmSim+BMWorld as the LVFR’s version is a port of their P3D version and it just got obsolete. But I can imagine many people stayed with LVFR as it’s less framerate hungry.

As for KDEN… I own Flightbeam’s version, I’m a big fan of their work but X-Codr’s version is probably more attractive to people who want the latest layout of the airport. I’ve seen some screenshots of that rendition and I must say that I like Flightbeam’s textures better. The hand-crafted Asobo’s version is easy on frame rates but it lacks detail of those two payware renditions.

Dont forget the horrible taxiways in the Asobo version. The Rockies start there in that version. Or is that fixed?

Oh yes, I completely forgot about that. Initially that was one of the main reasons to purchase Flightbeam’s version. No idea if Asobo/Gaya had fixed that, though.

I still remember needing almost full throttle to get my CRJ to runway 8. I now use Flightbeam’s version. It’s something about there textures indeed. Can’t imaginr that being better with the other versions. Especially feelthere…

The original Asobo premium still is not fixed. I have one of the city updates still deleted because apparently that was the issue. I also have it at the Vegas airport by the way with that update installed. Cracks in taxi/runways and in Denver unclimable hills and speedbumps everywhere

Why is Honda making the Civic when there’s already the Toyota Corolla on the market?

I switched to the X-CODR one, which is excellent and up-to-date with terminal expansions.

Make sure you uninstall the KDEN version that comes with I think Premium, otherwise you’ll have cliffs near the C gates among other places.

Good question

I have used Flightbeam’s Denver for a while now and love it.

Having multiple versions of the same airport is an incentive for devs to ensure theirs is top of the pile. Competition among devs re the bigger airports is a positive thing, I agree.

Playing devils advocate here, but if there are numerous options for a product, that is also a reason for a Developer not to pursue that endeavor. Even if that dev could do better or wanted to show off their version. It’s a double edged sword, if there are many freeware options that are deemed good enough by the community, payware devs won’t put in the effort if they know the market already has options. I personally think more the merrier, because this is a creative space for many devs, unfortunately this is a business and smart time and money decisions have to be made.

I have Flightbeam Denver and love it as well. I know they are working on a major KDEN update which hopefully will be out soon as the current KDEN is a bit outdated.
