Better Ground Textures via Algorythm

I often find myself getting super immersed until I reach lower altitudes. Then you can start to see the washed out ground textures of the sattelite imagery. Wouldn’t it be possible to create a certain amount of assets like grass, wheat, dirt, sand etc. and try to feed it to the algorythm to place it accordingly and make the whole earths siurface look more believable ?
