Super frustrating. First thing I try is to get equal performance to 2020 on the triple monitor setup and it’s much worse (from alignment to performance).
And yeah, 1 Gbps internet, 128 GB RAM, 5090, 9950x3d.
Wild.

I have bad performance as well. I don’t think FG uses the side monitors and conflicts with the main monitor. When I add just one monitor, my fps is halved. I lock at 60, due to having 60hz monitors.
It is still in experimental, so hopefully we see an update to it in the future. I really would like to use my trip setup.

FSR framegen works on all monitors. Nvidia framegen only works on the main monitor
I’ve just tried FSR. Still no joy. Still cuts my fps by half. Unless I’m setting it up wrong? Any Advice?
I use the latest FSR via DLSS Swapper.
Well your fps is always going get cut in half when you add another screen to render. Even with framegen. The way the sim works it is basically rendering the game twice, or three times for triples. The work needs to be done by Asobo to improve it.
Would you please describe how it’s done.
Anyway used a second monitor to pop out windows like EFB and Garmin?
Also can use with touch? And USB-C or HDMI?
Looking to get one of those portable monitors
A bit of searching the forum would get you the answers you want here, but in quick summary:
While the sim has no touch support, you can get it using Pop Out Panel Manager, which will automate the pop-out process for you and uses an overlay method to add touch.
PS5 and XBox doesn’t have multi monitors, that’s why we ended up with this amateurish multi-monitor setup, just the bare minimum.
They keep forgetting that Xbox and PS5 players aren’t the ones keeping this kind of product alive. They tend to play for shorter periods of time. Sure, the server infrastructure and developers have to be paid somehow, but there would have been better ways to do that. I suspect that all of us enthusiasts would be happy to pay a subscription fee if they took more of our wishes and needs into account.
It’s just sad and depressing.
I dont understand why they do not mention or say anything about it.
Why MSFS2024 or 2020 as a flight simulator does not have advanced fov and triple settings? (Still in 2025)
They did not even say “it is not our priority to develop more triple setup options etc, may be in the future” or “we know there are some niche with triple setups, we will look in the future etc” which is surprising.
I note in the latest SU4 beta that now when you enter the main menu, even the side screens “grey out” so it really becomes a complete guessing game of trial and error trying to line up your side monitors.
I really hope they update/support triple screens soon. I do have a few other games I use with them but MSFS is thee sim I would like to have run smooth with them.
I think we can submit that as a bug if it carries to the live version, i dont think they will do something which will make the experience worse.
I think its pretty obvious by now the devs simply do not care about triple monitor support…
Frankly, I think it’s more that they consider it done already, and so there are no plans to extend or improve it on the roadmap.
As has been mentioned up-thread, multi-monitor has no benefit on the console platforms that are now 2 out of the 3 platforms MSFS runs on, and for PC platform users it’s still a minority who use more than one screen at all, let alone the full multi-screen setups that would benefit from proper multi-window support. Those doing true ‘home cockpit’ stuff like projector screens are a tiny minority of a tiny minority.
FSX could make all of this happen because of an accident in its original design which meant that multi-window and then multi-monitor was trivially easy to do (albeit with significant FPS loss), which then carried over to P3D, which enhanced it further; X-Plane added similar capability (though it’s not quite as flexible) because of their training sim / FAA-certified sim customer base. MSFS has no such customer base, at least not one that’s acknowledged, and it’s not a target for MS for this product. And, since MSFS was not designed in such a way as to make this easy to do like FSX was, it’s unlikely to ever happen.
If there were real money in it, MS might consider creating a new commercial sim platform out of MSFS (kind of like ESP2) and add this stuff to it, for a hefty license cost. But there doesn’t seem to be any suggestion that they are interested in that. They leave that market to Lockheed Martin and Laminar Research.
Sad, but the focus needs to be on finding ways to make what we have now do more, as FlyElise NG et al are doing with their not-terrible projector blending tech for MSFS.
Boeing announced training with MFS. Hopefully, MFS sees the potential to improve its sim for hard core simmer.
Frame generation on multiple display is here now… with AMD FSR3 but ahe using it, the windows will eventually desync and main WI dow will freeze with the side windows turning in a slow slide show. I feel it is the proof that DLSS FG for all windows is not far Hopefully.
Then… we need to be able to pop out the instruments without the cockpit in the way.
For what its worth, the i’m using FSR FG accross 3 render windows. The only time I notice the side windows becoming out of sync is when I can’t maintain an even frame rate that equals my monitors refresh rat. In my case, I have my monitors set at 60Hz and MSFS 2024 will default to 30 native FPS. If the sim cannot maintain 30 native FPS (due to heavy cloud or night lighting) and dips into the high 20s, thats when I notice the stuttering.
Also, if I have developer mode on (ie to use the FPS monitor) the main render window does not have FG applied to it. No idea why.
Thanks. When it goes out of sync does it crash.?
Not for me. It just stutters.
When I use DLSS quality with FSR3 as framegen I get the starters on the side screens as mentioned before. When I use FSR Quality instead of DLSS quality and keep FSR3 as framegen gen I don’t get any stutters on the side screeens. This combo is more fluid stutter-free but the image you get is not clear as with DLSS quality. Seems blurry and not focused. Like the distant textures are rendered in lower quality event with TLOD 300
