Just coming up Noon on the Pacific coast and I’ve been having better stability in SU2 1.4.12 than I’ve had the previous several days. I’ve been using DLSS all along so it wasn’t a matter of switching to TAA. So, the question is did something get fixed on the server side, is it related to something I found on my system (explained below), or am I just getting lucky at the moment?
I noticed an error in my Application log for the MSI Gamebar software I had uninstalled some time ago. I recently reinstalled MSI Center and added some of the features but not Gamebar. Yet that was trying to run and failing on a DLL error. Obviously the earlier uninstall didn’t do a good job. Regardless, after more poking around I found the MSI tools had created some scheduled tasks at some point and they were all trying to run including the Gamebar items. The only one I wanted was the LED light control so I disabled the other tasks and rebooted. I had a long session very late last night (around London and Paris) and one for the past hour or so (around KLAX). SU2 did not CTD or freeze.
Was it this change on my end or something on the server side? Keep in mind that 2020 has been stable all along and I’ve only been having issues with 2024 SU2 the last week. You’d think if the faulting MSI software was the culprit it’d have affected both sims.
