I think what else struck me on my first go with BATC was the quick ability to make it go automatic mode for tune & reply. What a cool feature. (I don’t use a mic so haven’t tried that) and usually just go with manual mouse clicks to interact. With the ability to jump in and out of auto mode it means I can leave a flight running and not come back and find I’ve had my IFR plan dropped by ATC (default sim).
One question though. Are the ATC areas real life? On a flight from EGPF to EGLL this morning I was handed from Scottish center over to London control without being passed to Manchester (as I usually am with default sim ATC). I’m not a pilot IRL so can’t answer if this true to real life ops or not?
One slight issue (same as with default ATC) is when I get into busy AI traffic areas (like around EGLL for example) I can barely get a word in to ATC. The reply option keeps getting removed and refreshed so fast I barely have time to read them before they are gone again, let alone interact/choose an option. I had to be quick and be hovering the mouse over and ready to go.
