BeyondATC

Very nice changelog, can’t wait to test it.

A little question by the way : On long flights (3 hours or more), I need to relaunch BeyondATC because there are no more conversations with ATC/AI Trafic, is this known ?

I have used BATC on numerous flights between 3 hours and 10 hours in length. It has been well over six months since BATC “lost” me en route. In that case I did quit and restart the program. However, I have been told that in such circumstances, you should be able to select Center frequency and announce yourself on-frequency and that will sort of wake-up the program.

I used BATC on Friday night (don’t know if this update was live by then), but it was by far the best experience I’ve had with the program. Didn’t have to call for my own descent, vectors were pretty good, etc. Was in a Duke from Meadow Lake in Colorado Springs (KFLY) to Steamboat/Bob Adams (KSBS). No complaints at all.

Thanks, great info. I know BATC doesn’t enforce such things yet, but I still like a warm fuzzy that I’m “doing the right thing”.

How do you update the app for this?

Yeah, +1 here, my app is saying its already on the latest update…

You have to be on the “experimental” branch on BATC in order to get the update. If all goes well, then they will release it to everyone on the EA(stable) branch.

Can’t wait for this. I fly mostly bizjets into smaller airports that frequently don’t have SID/STAR procedcures.

Niiiiice. It’s a little thing but I really liked it in SayIntentions. It felt good to be able to change the volume controls in the cockpit in VR.

HotFix 1.6.41.Experimental
`Vectors - hot fix update to new vector logic based on user feedback, in particular resolving departure vector issues

We are also aware of reports of significant performance issues with the experimental build for some people which is directly related to changes to traffic handling. While we work on fixing that please either run with traffic turned off in experimental or revert to the EA build.

And a second one:

HotFix 1.6.42.Experimental
Performance Hot Fix - this fix aims to restore performance to 1.6.22 levels particularly around lagging of the UI, hanging speech and traffic

Yeah I launch again (don’t need to close, just ESC + Fly again and it’s OK) then center and I’m back on track.

Since the last update (experimental branch), I can’t hear other traffic. My radio is almost in silence. Anyone else?

Earlier release notes (see above) said Beyondatc Com settings are now affected by on/off and volume settings in the aircraft. Could this be a reason for your reduced volume?

It doesn’t affect if you don’t activate it in the BATC options. I have it disabled. That’s not the reason. Also, I have the airplane radio at full volume. It’s not that I can’t hear, it’s just that there are no communications between the traffic and the ATC. Thank you for your help anyway.

I guess first thing I’d check is Nav radio turned on and volume maxed in your airplane, if not, perhaps move to the normal, not experimental build, your issues may be related to this problem from the devs, as quoted by @ghostlyfrend

This is a subset of your problem, but when I’m on Ground and doing preflights, I never hear landing aircraft checking in with Ground for taxi instructions; I only hear Ground say “callsign, taxi to gate/stand (whatever) via (route)”, and then the acknowledgment.

I am in awe. I bought it last night but had so many issues with getting my quest 3 mic to work i gave up.
This morning, a little hop in an easy jet to get my feet wet with simbrief and all the hoop jumping miami to atlanta in the longitude. Im gobsmacked.
I waited and waited to see what Microsoft was going to do with ATC. AND i absolutely refused to use simbrief cause i was so tired of opening multiple sites and apps. If its not in sim. Or in the aircraft. I dont want it. Well simbriefs integration with the efb is a huge plus. Its in sim now. And beyond ATC? ABSOLUTELY not one issue or “go around” theres no way i can look back now. Tool of the year award, for support, tutorials, and an amazing tool that we all have been waiting for and an amazing value. Bravo!
I will say… it was Microsoft sim that killed it at 6fps on approach. Pppfft

Is some sort of mic/headset absolutely necessary to use BATC?

If you are wanting to talk to BATC, then a mic/headset is required. You can also interact with BATC using menu keys/auto-reply if you don’t want to talk with BATC or do not have a mic/headset.

Will BATC refund you if you’re simply not happy with the product or it’s just not what you thought it would be? I’ve had it for only 3 days and I’ve already had more go arounds then a person would normally have in a lifetime. And yes I’ve tried the sliders. Don’t want a lot of back and forth on this just the simple question. This will be the last time I buy something without a trial.
